Per Kenpom, if their ranking of #98 currently doesn't improve, they could be the worst Maryland team since Turgeon's first year in 2012 (#134). The only other year they were below #52 was in Danny Manning's last season in 2022 (#83) which lead to him being fired.

The Maryland fans are slowly figuring Buzz out. Buzz really is full of sh*t. Should have been a preacher or motivational coach.

Weirdo press conferences or not I still think he's a very good basketball coach it's just probably going to be a weird fit at a place like Maryland. Maryland doesn't want to scrap their way to success, they think they're a borderline blue blood. Why I was surprised they hired him the first place.

You may not be smart enough to understand his point.

His point was Payne has a higher percentage to score from the field than the FT line - therefore, he wanted refs to stop calling fouls because it was preventing them from scoring. I'm sure he's saying this with dry humor.

Buzz's team dropped 50 on the best defensive team the NCAA has seen in the last three years without two rotational/starting pieces - and Payne going out in the first half with injury. This is super impressive regardless if you hate Buzz or not. Big case to be made they beat Michigan if healthy and Solo doesn't....well be Solo.

Pretty much exactly my opinion as well. I still enjoyed him as our coach despite what 98% of TexAgs thinks. We won a lot and had a lot of fun times

He's a very good coach for schools that aren't going to be able to recruit at a super high clip. Next year will be extremely interesting for Buzz. In terms of raw talent it may be the best team he's ever had. Top 3 class and one of their guards was a five star this year

The recruiting thing is going to be interesting. I'm sure he has all kinds of cash to spend right now because Maryland fans are so emotional from a coach LEAVING the mighty Maryland program. Kind of the perfect situation for Buzz who obviously doesn't want to have to do any of the heavy lifting to raise the amount of NIL the program is getting. But if that level is already really high then he'll do just fine.

I think it's going to be interesting to see if he changes his defensive strategy because the college game is changing in a hurry.
