So is my interpretation correct that we were only a line or two from being in Dayton?

Yep. But also solidly in during a year with a weak bubble.

Maybe I didn't say it well. Seems like we were just one or two spots from the play-in games? But if you add those teams in we had some cushion, I agree.

If Dayton beat VCU, we could have possibly been playing in the play in game. They had VCU as the 45th team so who knows if they would have been an actual at large selection.

Colleyville had a range that he felt the Ags could fall in top of the range was the second best 9 right behind Georgia
and the bottom of that range was the number one 11 which is really close to going to Dayton

Yes we were 1 team away from going to Dayton but also a pretty clear resume edge over that team imo. But 1 additional bid stealer could have screwed us.

In my range of uncertainty I had us between the 2nd 9 seed to the top 11, the top 11 at large went to Dayton. The only team in Dayton, which I had going to the first 4 but thought could be argued to be ahead of us was Miami (OH)

I haven't tried playing with the numbers but I believe One more L and we were out imo. The triple OT win was critical.

We were about 1.5 wins clear of Texas an SMU who both got in the field. Oklahoma was the first team out and we were 2 wins clear of them and beat them twice this year.

There was a pretty massive gap this year from teams securely in and the teams in danger. It would have been a much more uncomfortable wait had we lost to lsu and nervous time watching bids (not) be stolen but we would have gotten in even with a loss there.
