When I spent time in Chicago this summer to escape the Texas heat, I made many new Gen X friends who all talked about watching WGN growing up in the Windy City. They were shocked that I also watched WGN while growing up in Dallas, Texas. I let them know we had 36 cable television channels on a wired cable box and that Channel 9 was WGN. I religiously watched the Bozo Show and loved seeing who would win the Grand Prize Game. WGN and cable channel 9 was also how I got to regularly watch the Chicago Cubs, but only during the day since there were no night games at that time (before 8 August 1988) in the friendly confines of Wrigley Field.

anyone from Houston? How about Kitarik (KTRK channel13) in the afternoon and Cadet Don and Seymore in the mornings (50's and 60's)

I love Harry Caray, he was the man. He combined heavy drinking, baseball stats, and humor into one! The Man, the Myth, the Legend.
