Say whatever you will, Ben is a balll knower and he has more fun than anyone. Maybe they heard me when I requested that he doesn't broadcast games with teams from Louisiana.

I had to chuckle when he said he enjoyed talking to the AZ HC thought cause I just can't imagine anyone Ben doesn't enjoy talking to.

He is extremely knowledgeable. He's just too "home spun."

Also, he needs more anecdotes. He's been around baseball forever, but when a game gets out of hand, he seems to only have a handful of things to fall back on... eating squirrel, playing basketball for Dale Brown, having batteries thrown at him by section 104 at Olsen, the new bridge on I-10 (that was built in the 50s).

A similar broadcaster that I like lots more is Rex Hudler who does color on the Royals telecasts. Hud didn't play college baseball, but they're very similar personalities.
