Looks like I'll have to go to Reno to see him. He was optioned today.

Diamondbacks bullpen is the worst I've ever seen in 60+ years watching baseball. I was surprised they burned an option if in fact they did. Their guys just throw BP.

I think Seattle optioned him first before trading.

Our son in law is a relief pitcher in the D-backs system. He was having a phenomenal year at AAA Reno until a shoulder injury sidelined him in late May. He's been rehabbing in Phoenix since and hopes to get back to Reno the last few weeks of the year. If there was ever a season to get a call up and a shot in the big league bullpen, this was definitely the year. Hopefully, he comes back strong and gets a shot in 2026.

Do you mind sharing his name? I've never seen a bullpen this bad. They had a stretch in June where they blew late inning leads 6 games in a row. You're right, your SIL probably would have gotten his chance.

That's who I thought it was. I've been an Astros fan my whole life but this is my 3rd season living here so I'm on the Diamondbacks too. Hopefully Kyle gets back soon because it looks like auditions are coming these last 55 games. I hope he and your daughter are enjoying it here while he's rehabbing. It's an amazing place to live.
