I agree, TOOTBLANs and the like should get stupid.

MVP all weekend for the kid who screwed up a couple Fridays ago was a nice touch.

One year in the 00s, Baylor 3rd baseman had something like 3-4 errors in a game against us. The Raggies started chanting "Hit the ball to 3rd! Hit the ball to 3rd!" That's was fun!

Because they are miserable jerks. 203 ran them off before they could cause problems

Its a family atmosphere. They probably hurt that poor 3rd baseman's feelings.

I've enjoyed when Sawyer Farr has been playing, they sing his walk up song (Stacy's mom) and replace Stacy with whatever the pitcher's name is.

Can we get back to being classy? The ballpark is full of young kids and is promoted as family friendly. There's even a giant playscape that is always crawling with kids. Yelling profanities at a pitcher, saying they suck, and yelling "it's all your fault" when a pitcher is replaced is pretty classless. There's a difference between heckling and being a jerk. We need to get back to being family-friendly.

It's a ballpark, not church. You can't expect college kids to act like missionaries. Our fans and heckling are by far the most acceptable in the SEC. Go to an LSU or Arky game if you wanna hear some real classlessness.

When there are families with kids in attendance, the correct thing is to keep subjects clean and language even cleaner.
If you truly don't understand that, then your parents failed you.

I am at all the games. The only possible "offensive" thing said was Jeff Head sucks which quickly disappeared. I did not hear anything like the poster who claimed to hear 203 was yelling at a pitcher or player that they sucked.
Sorry but 203 is fine. And really tired of the morality police creating crimes in their mind that did not occur. And yes I read my Bible everyday and go to church and weekly Bible studies. There is only one group that Jesus routinely condemned, the holier than thou crowd. The same folks who called him a glutton and a drunkard.
Carry on.

As far as us 203 guys believe, yelling that "so and so was better" or that it was a pitcher's fault is fair game because we are stating a fact without outright insulting someone. We have taken the "so and so sucks" criticism and toned it down because we do agree that we can be more funny than insulting. Anytime someone goes too far, we've made sure to police it because we want it to be fun, but also not fall to the levels of LSU fans. If you have any good criticism or question, please feel free to reach out to me.

Much appreciated for listening to some feedback and I have noticed the policing of yourselves. All good stuff.

In hindsight, they may have been high school kids who stopped in from the track meet that was going.

Regardless, they learned not to wear those colors in the ballpark and mainly not in 203.

I have a really hard time believing this ever happened. In the 90's??? I hear stories of 203 bringing in cheerleading bullhorns to yell at the pitcher in the 90's. It's pretty frustrating as current students to hear old ags complaining about heckling and in the same breath turn and say the students aren't loud enough anymore.

Wait, we can't say "it's all your fault"? Are you Tony Gee's mom? You would have had a coronary after the following exchange during a blowout of UTSA in which 1B Tony Gee had 4 E's and 4 K's. At 1B. That's really difficult to pull off and we rode him pretty hard, telling him bombs to left were his fault, doubles, etc. called him a scrabble nightmare a few times before we settled on"It's all Tony's fault!"

The postgame exchange from the second deck:

LOYAL AG - Tony, rough night, man. You're better than that.
Tony smirking - Not my best game.
LOYAL AG - You'll be better next time.
Tony - Thanks.
Tony's mom from the first deck - You guys are mean.
LOYAL AG - Ma'am, it's all in good fun. No harm, no foul.
Tony's mom - If you're so good you should come down and play.
LOYAL AG - I suck, that's why I'm up here. Tony should come sit with us! No hard feelings, ma'am. Y'all have a safe trip home.
Tony - Mom, stop. That was funny!

So, you probably haven't been at an Aggie sporting event with your kids when something happens like, say, a horse collar that wasn't called, a holding that isn't called, a TD that is wiped off by a ref for no apparent reason, Blue calling a strike 3 on a ball at the lower shins of our 6'5" outfielder or an odd call by your offensive staff to have your freshman RB take a pitch then have to thrown across himself and behind which leads to a turnover instead of just running the ball into the end zone for a TD that was supposed to seal the game. There were plenty of parents in each of these situations swearing in such a way that would make sailors blush. It's sports. I am fully convinced my kids know how to swear b/c of Aggie sports. A lot of it is my fault, but not all of it.

There were several groups of kids who came over from the track meet to see what Olsen was about, talk to a few and all seemed to be good kids. They wore their uniforms because they had other events later. They weren't hurting anyone, from what I saw none were rude, etc. seems like no big deal. Sounds like you expected them to strip down to their underwear before coming into the stadium?

Oh, it happened. I was there. It is a fine line. We had a guy, Jimmy, when I was there who went to every game and he could thread the fine line between being too personal or profane and giving just the right level of things to say to throw an opposing player off. He went as far as to get media guides and other personal information about the team and players in an age before the internet or social media.

But I have to give credit to the current 203 gang. They have done a great job coming up with imaginative, fun and interesting ways to do their thing. Each generation has it's own feel and brings it's own personal touch to the experience while keeping some of the best of what's been around since the late 80's.

Another one of my favorites: Ow! Ow! Ow! after an opposing hitter fould tips off his foot or body. Specifically when he steps with that foot and on each practice swing. I remember a tu player actually having to call time to step back and laugh as the whole of Olsen rained that down on him. I actually love it when opposing players have some fun with it. As opposed to the Okie State coach that wanted to have Jimmy banned from baseball in '97.

Love this! Remember when the UCLA qb claimed that Kyle Field wouldn't be a problem for him and that once you get over 50,000 fans, the noise wouldn't be any louder, or something to that effect. The "50,000" chant was fun to finish the game. And of course 2 years ago against LSU and we put Nussmeier's quote on the video board at Kyle. It's part of the game. And of course the famous USC pitcher and his father's reaction to his being taunted at Globe Life 2 year's ago.

In the 97 Regional at Olsen, there was an opposing player that loved the Raggies so much he hung out with them after his team was finished in the regional.

1995 SWC Championship was at Olsen. That year Jose Cruz Jr won the POY but we thought John Curl deserved it. We had a rule that we didn't heckle Cruz Jr because he always made us pay. Well Rice went 0-2 that weekend and Cruz Jr went like 1-8. So when they were down late in their second game and it looked likely they were done we started chanting for him to "give the trophy back".

Fast forward to post game interviews and a bunch of us had passes because we were on tarp crew. We went to their post game and he was down there so one of us said something like, tough weekend but we'd enjoyed getting to watch him play to which he responded, "Thanks but that 'give the trophy back **** was just wrong!" Then he laughed and gave us high fives for making it fun.

It's hard for parents to get but players mostly love it here.
