RPI is important, but it's not the only factor. Georgia is 16 in the RPI but 3 in the projections. If we finish first, second, or third in the SEC, it's highly likely that we get a national seed. Fourth, and it gets a lot trickier.


I would add if there's is very little difference between the 4&5 then neither gets a top 8 but if the 4 separates itself and is closer to the 3 then it likely gets the last national seed especially if it has really good SOS & Winning a game or two at Hoover might actually be the difference

Miami cancelled their game last night against 15-32 FIU and NC State cancelled against 12-34 North Carolina A&T

No idea if they were legitimate cancellations, but my gut tells me probably not.

Friendly reminder that there are other metrics on the team sheet aside from RPI. DSR and KPI (which do not punish you for simply playing the games) are also available for the committee to consider.

After last night, A&M held steady at #8 in the KPI and moved down just one spot to #6 in the DSR.

And Oregon canceling 2 midweeks against RPI 219 Grand Canyon.

They have to somehow start punishing for these cancelations.

They need transparency on how selections work and should probably drop the lowest five opponents since otherwise it will get worse.

All I know is we have not played well at all in the first game of the weekends the two times we had our Tuesday games cancelled. It was almost as if the team was rusty from not playing. So I will take the RPI hit this week if it means the team plays better this weekend.

Interesting observation. And Ole Miss did not have a midweek game this week, they also got run ruled in their last Friday game. Hopefully/maybe be a good sign?
