Hitting someone in retaliation never made sense to me... why give your opponent a free baserunner just because your teammate got hit? That's dumb. I don't care about "sending a message", getting 3 outs is enough of a message for me.

^^^

Got bullied in high school and immediately dropped into the fetal position and then apologized to the bully.

So you believe the Ole Miss pitcher was a bully and intentionally threw at Kellner? If not, your analogy sucks.

You're right. Next time someone loses control of their car and T-bones you, just let them go, tell them you understand how hard they tried, and go pay for your own repairs.

WTH

when you have to embellish like this it makes your stance even worse.

Embellish? Someone lost control and caused damage. He wanted a better analogy. He got it. Go cry somewhere else.

Another horrible analogy. You are consistent though. Look, I think folks on here will tell you that if I feel someone is dissing us or intentionally going after us, I am all about going after them. Remember what we did to Peyton Chatagnier? This is not that. This is like weak NBA "retaliation" stuff. Disgraces the game of baseball.

You can't throw out the BS you don't know what you are talking about bc you did not play. And the guy you are debating informs you he played. And then you say those 14 years don't count bc everyone did it BS. That's crawfishing.

As long as we can clarify the comment was only pointing out the fact that only half of those years had a pitcher actually throwing to a batter, your gatekeeping can continue, strawman.

Baseball broke him. He brought it all on himself. The guys who hit our batters did not do that.

Did they ever officially announce what the injury was, and whether he required surgery?

I believe it was broken orbital bone, no surgery, no concussion, good chance he plays this weekend.

There is no orbital bone, though. There are zygoma (tripod) fractures, orbital blowout fractures, frontal sinus fractures, zygomatic arch fractures, etc. All of them are treated very differently and would require different recuperation times. Great news if he did not have to have surgery, though, also if no concussion. I was watching the game live and he went down immediately, really looked scary.

Dr. Google says:

An orbital fracture (broken eye socket) is a serious, often medical emergency that can lead to permanent vision loss, double vision, or nerve damage if not treated promptly. While many heal on their own or via surgery, risks include severe infection, brain injury, or permanent eye misalignment. Immediate medical evaluation is crucial.

Man. You "unwritten rules" people are real sensitive, I don't see the point of statements like this. More often than not it's a little bit of projection on the part of the guy who says it.

This analogy fails when you apply the tiniest bit of logic to it... like just think for a second.

Either you take your route: they t bone you so you t bone them back and catch a vehicular manslaughter charge or assault with a deadly weapon (hint, neither are good)

Or you just be normal and not do that and get you a new car out of the deal? Kind of like taking your free base runner and taking advantage of it. So thanks for making my point I guess?

To be clear, I don't think you crawfished on your standpoint. But I do think it was some crap that you came in with this preconceived notion that i have an ignorant opinion because I never played baseball when in actuality I played as many years as my skill level would allow, all because I said something (that is purely a matter of opinion) that you disagreed with. And when I challenged your notion, you said that I was trying to flex like I thought it was cool that I was an average or slightly below average high school ball player. In all likelihood I know just as much about baseball and love baseball just as much as you do. As to my skill level compared to yours I can't say, but that doesn't matter in this discussion, and shouldn't have any bearing on it.

Edit to say I did technically also insult your opinion by calling it childish. Shouldn't have done that

I am by far no expert on the matter, just going by what was said during the broadcast Saturday and what I believe Coach said during an interview yesterday.

Coach said he would not be surprised if Kellner played this weekend.
He never said there was a good chance. Maybe not surprised is close to meaning good?

"Coach said" is unfortunately the last place I'd go for accurate information. So, we'll see if Kellner starts this weekend, and for his sake, I hope he's able to play.
