Texas A&M volleyball fell to Tennessee in this year's "Dig Pink" match, 3-2. The Lady Vols finished off the Aggies in the final set 15-12 to clinch the win.
The Aggies got off to a slow start but picked up speed mid-set and finished with a first set score of 25-23. Sophomore Morgan Davis ignited motivation in the second set with a block and score that set A&M on top 25-22.
Junior outside hitter Hollann Hans led the maroon and white offensively with 22 kills and 21 digs. Hans made a big score that struck through an attempted double block in the fourth. Alongside Hans was junior Brookah Palmer with an accomplishment of 15 kills, 10 digs and 17 points.
Palmer helped secure the fourth set win with an ambitious serve after coming out of a Tennessee timeout.
"Seeing the fight from all my teammates and me being able to put that ball away for them and celebrate together," Palmer said.
Texas A&M head volleyball coach Laura Kuhn said that she knew the match was going to be a battle.
"We need to play clean. Our passing was not there tonight," Kuhn said. "We fought but our execution needs to be much better."
The Aggies will play their next match against No. 15 Kentucky this Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Reed Arena.
