On Monday, Callie Garner took us Around Aggieland as 22 student-athletes walked the stage at Reed Arena, volleyball gears up for seven nationally televised matches, soccer rolls into the regular season, and three members of the men’s golf program head to the U.S. Amateur.

Twenty-two Texas A&M student-athletes will graduate at summer commencement Friday inside Reed Arena.

Six of the graduates are earning advanced degrees or certificates, including soccer’s Jordyn Kindiger, who completed her doctorate in educational psychology.

Volleyball
Texas A&M volleyball will appear in seven nationally televised matches during the 2025 season, the SEC announced Thursday.

The ninth-ranked Aggies will be featured six times on ESPN platforms and once on the Big Ten Network. They open the year with a top-12 matchup against No. 11 Minnesota at the AVCA First Serve in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, airing on BTN.

Pre-conference play also includes No. 23 Utah on Sept. 4 and No. 10 SMU on Sept. 9, both on ESPN2. In SEC action, the Aggies face No. 17 Missouri on Sept. 24 (ESPNU), South Carolina on Oct. 1 (SEC Network) and No. 7 Kentucky on Oct. 8 (SEC Network) before closing their TV slate against Tennessee on Nov. 2 (ESPN2).

Coming off a Sweet 16 run, the Aggies return to the national spotlight in 2025.

Soccer
Texas A&M closed out exhibition play Saturday with a 4-1 victory over UTRGV at Ellis Field.

The Aggies scored three set-piece goals, including two penalty kicks and a corner. Taylor Jernigan drew both penalties after also earning one in last week’s win over Rice. Leah Diaz converted from the spot in the 14th minute, but the Vaqueros tied it in the 27th. A&M regained the lead in the 35th when Mia Scranton scored off a Leah Pirro corner.

In the second half, the Aggies held UTRGV without a shot. Trinity Buchanan and Jernigan added goals, with Kaylee Noble recording an assist. Texas A&M outshot the Vaqueros 17-4 and now turns its focus to the regular-season opener.

Men’s Golf
Three members of the Texas A&M men’s golf program will compete in the 125th U.S. Amateur Championship, set for Monday through Sunday at The Olympic Club in San Francisco.

Wheaton Ennis earned his spot as a top-100 player in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, while Jacob Sosa and assistant coach Matt Fast advanced through qualifiers. The 312-player field will be cut to 64 after two rounds of stroke play before shifting to a match-play bracket. The champion will be crowned in a 36-hole final on Aug. 17.

This is Ennis’ second appearance at the U.S. Amateur. He reached the round of 32 last year, while former A&M golfer Sam Bennett won the event in 2022.
