Another season comes to an end.

Texas A&M (5-7-5, 2-6-2) played its last regular-season game of 2025, a 3-0 loss to Kentucky (11-4-3, 5-2-3) on Sunday afternoon at Ellis Field.

The Aggies entered this match needing a win to secure a spot in the SEC Tournament, but with the loss, A&M misses the postseason altogether for the third time in five seasons.

“You know we create many chances, they finish them, and we don't come close,” head coach G Guerrieri said. “So obviously for next year, an emphasis on goal scoring will be important for that group.”

However, with his contract expiring, Guerrieri’s future with the program is uncertain.

The program’s only head coach in its history, 2025 was Guerrieri’s 33rd season guiding the Aggies. A five-time conference coach of the year, he has led A&M to 507 wins, 18 conference titles and 28 NCAA Tournament appearances.

"I've dedicated my life to this place. I'm part of this community, and my kids went to Texas A&M. My wife went to Texas A&M. I love this place. I love the people.”
- Texas A&M head soccer coach G Guerrieri

"I've dedicated my life to this place,” an emotional Guerrieri said. “I'm part of this community, and my kids went to Texas A&M. My wife went to Texas A&M. I love this place. I love the people. We've had a lot of success, and we've won more titles than anybody else. We've won more games than anybody else. I'm proud of the coaching staff that have been with me. I'm proud of the players that have been with me, and I'm proud of everything those people have put into it."

Whether Sunday was his final match will be determined at a later date.

Regardless, it was the final match of 2025.

“He knows when to be hard on us and when to be positive and help us keep going,” senior Bella Yakel said of Guerrieri. “This halftime, we needed the push to keep going, and that's what we got, but the outcome was not.”

A back-and-forth affair early, Kentucky was first to score in the 40th minute as Katherine Truitt converted off a corner kick.

After halftime, the Wildcats took over. Thalia Morisi made it 2-0 in the 62nd, and Sydni Fink added a third in the 68th.

For much of the season, A&M’s inability held the Maroon & White back. On Sunday, they had four shots on goal turned away by Kentucky keeper Megan Holland.

“The last 25 minutes, we had to throw a lot of numbers forward, so it allowed them to get more statistics against us,” Guerrieri said. “But you know, it’s a bit of a microcosmic of our season.”

A&M scored just four goals across the 10 SEC matches this year.

Offensive woes held them back and ultimately brought 2025 to an early end.
