Double-doubles equal SEC honors.

On Tuesday, Ny’Ceara Pryor was honored by the league and placed on the All-SEC second and defensive team.

The guard is largely responsible for Texas A&M’s surge as of late, finishing the regular season on a five-game heater.

In January, the Aggies won just one SEC game. Over a stretch of 32 days, they faced six ranked opponents and suffered lopsided losses in most contests.

But in February, things started to click. The Maroon & White have won six of their last seven, avoided the injury bug and head into the SEC Tournament with another tournament on their radar. With Pryor leading the way, A&M faces Auburn on Wednesday at 5 p.m. CT in Greenville, S.C.

The 5-foot-3 guard may be the league’s shortest player, but her impact looms large. A transfer from Sacred Heart, Pryor has been a difference-maker for Joni Taylor’s 2025-26 Aggies. Averaging 33 minutes a game, she makes the offense go and holds down the floor defensively as well as any guard in the country. She became the third player in SEC history to have multiple steals for an entire 16-game conference slate; the other two were named SEC Defensive Player of the Year. Pryor was honored by the league on the All-Defensive team.

The Aggies are a perfect 7-0 when Pryor registers a double-double. On top of that, she is the only player in the country ranked in the top 10 in assists and steals per game. Earlier this year, Pryor joined the 2,000-point, 500-assist and 400-steal club to become only the sixth player in NCAA history to accomplish the feat — an exclusive club that includes Dawn Staley.

Pryor’s career has been filled with accolades, but she wants to cap off her career with another trip to the NCAA Tournament, having been there twice before.
