Entire 800 field goes sub 2. We had no one go under 2:10 this year… even though we had multiple high school recruits well below that and a transfer who's gone 2:00 flat

I think a few could have absolutely done better. Jasmine Montgomery and Debora Cherono tan a lot better last season. Two of our best field athletes transferred this season. Katelyn Fairchild was uncharacteristically off today. We didn't have a lot of depth this season and injuries and transfers hurt us. Our strength is just a few sprinters. We were just hoping this roster could compete like some of them have been in the past, but it just didn't happen. I expect Dickson to podium and our 4x100 should be top 5.

We're just missing the quality these other schools have across the board

There's a term called trackflation. Let it be better training, super shoes or what not. There's events seeing performances more commonly that were rare just a few years ago.

We just have to keep getting faster to keep up. Look at the 400, everyone seemed to just dip under 45 but none of our guys couldn't. We need to get stronger in the mid distance and field events. Right now our only points on either side are from transfers. We need to develop our recruits and/or keep recruiting at an even higher level. Nnamdi was an Olympian before he transferred here. We have to attract that level of talent across different events

I've personally heard other coaches use his age against him. So I'm sure it plays some factor, but Henry is a machine and does not seem to be slowing down. From the high school ranks we're bringing in some top talent especially 100-400 and one of the best hurdlers in high school history. Now I just question can they continue to develop and at a minimum stay healthy. We'll need some jumpers and throwers.

On the women's side we're losing a lot and I don't think we've signed a strong high school class, not a single sprinter, 3 multi athletes, and 2 field event athletes. Just 3 runners. So we have to attack the portal hard there. There's a lot of work to be done in these coming weeks starting sunday

Gotta always keep reloading, but through all avenues: high school recruiting, transfer portal, international athletes

The Georgia women and Arkansas men have been doing this at an elite level the past 3/4 years and it's paying off. Arkansas men had a rough year last year and they took it personal and just added talent everywhere through the portal. The UGA women have had the number one recruiting class for about the past 4/5 years and then take from the portal anyone they want

From Iceland and The Netherlands, we just don't, for whatever reason, go after international talent like that.

We did it with one guy and he won nationals in the javelin. How about we do more of it

This has been a pretty unenjoyable watch the last two nights for the Ags. Was hoping maybe we could sneak into a podium spot with some big performances, but its just been disappointment after disappointment.
