And again I know it's a privilege to be complaining about a top 11 finish and we are spoiled as Aggie Track Fans, it just hurts especially after how amazing it felt last year to win it all. We brought back some of our key pieces, added an Olympian and some great transfers and some great freshman.

In a way it's amazing that we got any points at all in the 4 x 400 given that not one our our team was anywhere close to scoring a point in either 400m race (including hurdles). We also didn't have a 200m contestant.

Just rewatched the 800 final. Narumbe might have won the thing with a cleaner trip. Going into the final turn he was on the rail and started to move, but it looked like he and the Michigan runner tangled up a bit. Just as he got free Sahlman had suddenly come up on the outside and there wasn't enough room to get between Sahlman and Clay. So he had to gather a second time and try to move outside. It's tough to lose momentum twice in the final 200 and he couldn't muster his normal late juice.

Just a few names on the roster who didn't score/make it in this meet with their highest previous NCAA finish:

Solovev - 1st
Kibiego - 2nd
Scott (110 hurdles) - 3rd
Hankins - 5th

That 28 points right there. Plus several other names with PR's that would have scored this year. So the roster HAD the people to compete for the title. But they were either hurt or underperformed. I'll let others decide on blame, but it wasn't a deficiency in roster construction. At least not at the time of recruitment. You'll find similar notes on the women's side with Fairchild, Montgomery, Yakushina,
Cherono and others.

I knew a name looked familiar, beating our very own Morgan Davis on a tiebreaker in the long jump was Trinity Shadd-Ceres she was a member of Wisconsin Volleyball's final four team. She transferred to Creighton and decided to join track and field again after being a dual sport athlete at Creighton, I thought that was pretty cool!
