A very thin plotline to create a premise for cannibal midgets to tie up Ursula Andress' and rub down her naked torso with corpse goo. Pretty much the entire script is depicted in the movie poster.

Hell, I don't want to go to college Dad. To hell with them. I'm proud of being a cutter.

You're not a cutter. I'm a cutter.

Not that obscure. One of the best movies of the late-70s.

Joe the 1970 movie with Peter Boyle. Worth a watch.

Children of Men

I feel like it was mainstream, but at the same time it was almost too depressing, hopeless, and dystopian and I haven't ran into a lot of people who have seen it.

Not sure how much the GB would be into that but I really liked this one for that reason. Dark movies like this just really work for me.

The Rutles - actual title was "All You Need is Cash" - an NBC made for TV movie directed by Gary Weiss (for all you 1970s SNL fans). Actually generated a "soundtrack" album - with great Beatle-esque parodies. Then in mid-90s, when Beatles Anthology came out, the Rutles (minus Eric Idle/Dirk McQuickly) came out with the Rutles Archaeology. RIP Neil Innes/Ron Nasty.

Viva Max was a moderately successful movie when it was released over 55 years ago, but it's a rare find on video or TV, because a lot of the humor (and the casting) would be considered politically incorrect today. It's about a Mexican general (played by Peter Ustinov) who, with a small band of loyal soldiers, attempts to re-take the Alamo in the 60's.

Another film, Short Term 12, is an obscure indy film released in 2013, and is one of the better acted films I can remember seeing.

It is out there on streaming if you look for it. I found it a few months back (I already forgot where) and scanned through it for old video of San Antonio to see what landmarks I still recognized. The original Getaway with Stev McQueen and Ali McGraw has some scenes from the Riverwalk in the early 70s as well.

Movies filmed in and around Austin and Central Texas, some obscure some better known:
Outlaw Blues
Songwriter
Honeysuckle Rose
Nadine
DOA
A Small Town in Texas
Raggedy Man

Plenty of others...

We all saw that one. There was even a hit song on the radio called Convoy.

I apologize but that was one of the lamest songs I have ever heard.
