It's always the gun but never the one who pulls the trigger, eh? That's certainly a theory.
Its not just the gun though that's certainly ba big part of gun violence.
Just off the top of my head:
Better access to mental health resources would also help.
Reducing or removing the cost of those resources would help
Taking domestic violence far more seriously

Massive generalizations like this are dangerous and divisive.

I'm no fan of the radical left but I hope that they cry out as loud as anyone else. These are completely against a civil society and the putrid act done by a coward was very un-American. ALL should unite for at least a few days. This should not be political. We should all stand united.
I don't want anyone dying via gun violence.
I don't want anyone dying via any kind of violence.
Maybe Kirk's murder will motivate conservatives to work with liberals towards ending gun violence in this country but I have my doubts.
I'm done compromising with the left on anything. Nothing but crap ideas that run contrary to the principles upon which this nation was founded. I'll keep my guns, thank you. There's too many deranged lunatics on your side of the aisle for me to trust anyone but me to protect my family and make sure they have both the tools and training to protect themselves. And I'll be damned if I surrender any more of my rights to avoid offending the sensibilities of the left.
But I also won't pretend that Charlie Kirk was a decent and kind person. He's made his career by saying awful and inflammatory things about others he disagrees with. I don't blame him for his murder in any way and at the same time will not lift him up or praise him as a martyr, role model, or someone to admire.
He spoke the truth.
A 16 year old shot two classmates at school yesterday in Colorado before killing himself. That has barely registered on the news and on Texags. I wish we could all work together to make shootings like that and Kirk's murder stop. But there doesn't seem to be an appetite for that in a lot of conservative circles. Kirk himself even said that it was worth it to have some gun deaths a year in order to have the 2nd amendment.
He was right.
So I'll stand arm in arm with you in condemning the murder of Charlie Kirk because no one should be murdered or be a victim of gun violence. Now what are we going to do about it? How are we going to stop it moving forward?
I'm not standing arm in arm with anyone who votes Democrat. If you want to stop gun violence, you start by putting the insane back in asylums and you start punishing DAs who let thugs with 14 prior convictions run free to murder some helpless girl with a knife merely because she was white. She's dead because of how leftist policies treat crime and criminals.

Yes. Most ignorantly and unknowingly.

so basically you're going to spend the next few hours searching the web to try and cherry pick some random quotes out of context that try and paint Charlie as a bad guy. got it.

You can't handle when respectful disagreement occurs - this is why we shouldn't have this thread here. Go bash people whom you disagree with over there.

Sorry I have a job and can't spend all day arguing with people on Texags?

I think it's more like, 1/3 republican, 1/3 democrat, 1/3 other or don't care.

Finally made a TexAgs account because this crap. Reddit is a complete s-hole full deranged leftists openly celebrating the murder an unarmed man, for sharing opinions in a public forum. And they're justifying it. This country is screwed.

So far as I know Charlie Kirk was always diplomatic and respectful in his interactions with those he disagreed with. This guy was willing to have dialogue with those he disagreed with, which I always thought is supposed to be the American way. And he was murdered for it.
Edit to say I don't know how the quote stuff works obviously, the above was said by nai06.
Second edit to say and he was willing to engage in respectful debate in a public forum, not hidden behind a keyboard and a username.

Here are some quotes from Charlie Kirk. I don't think they sound like the words of a kind and decent person but you might disagree.
- Black women do not have the processing power to be taken seriously.
- We made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s.
- MLK was awful. He's not a good person. He said one good thing he actually didn't believe.
- If I see a Black pilot, I'm going to be like, "Boy I hope he's qualified".
- We need armed militias to prevent the diminishing and decreasing of white demographics.
- Women should not work but instead serve their husbands and raise children.
- If girls do want to attend college, their end goal should not be a degree, but rather a husband.
- Birth control has created very angry and bitter young ladies.
- birth control like really screws up female brains, by the way.
- (in reference to Transgender people)I blame the decline of American men. This never should've been -- someone should've just took care of it the way we used to take care of things in the 1950s or 60s.
- I can't stand the word "Empathy". I think empathy is a made-up new age term and it does a lot of damage.
