And then Reed and Doom look at each other and they both say "Doctor", but not quite at the same time. Everybody has a laugh.

I'm intrigued by and generally like the approach, sounds like we're going to abandon the multiverse at least for now which I'm totally ok with; it tends to get a little convoluted and confusing and allows for easy outs to solve conflicts.

The way I'm reading this they're going to make the FF and X-Men the primary heroes moving forward, potentially on a different but unified timeline, then eventually recast some other primary characters? To me that indicates that it's not going to be Earth-616 and I'd assume not Earth-1005 (Deadpool) since we've already got mutants and X-Men there.

So this could be FF's Earth, X-Men's Earth, or potentially a different one altogether that they arrive on after the events of Secret Wars?

When they "fix" the multiverse, it'll be a convenient excuse to make some new singular earth with whatever amalgamation they have decided it's going to be.

Does Johnny fall in love with the Silver Surfer in the comics or is this one of the people who saw it early having no filter on spoilers? I have no idea if he does or not, I never have read FF4.

I took that as a joke because Johnny is usually full of himself in past iterations

The fact that he kind of has a thing for her has also been in multiple TV spots.

I only knew a couple of names from the previous round of reactions, but am a more familiar with/trustworthy of a number of these, all of whom saw it today, and thankfully it's more of the same positivity...

Very interesting.

Yeah, I think Doom definitely makes an appearance, potentially in roughly the way you mention, and the plan could very well be to zap Galactus to our universe. But ultimately, my guess is the opposite happens. I think Galactus consumes their Earth, and the Fantastic Four barely escape by the skin of their teeth to our universe, the only remaining survivors. Then the question would be, does Doom make it on their ship with them, or does he find another way to jump to our universe?

Regardless, we're going to get more plot development in this movie, in that regard, than in any other movie since Endgame, which is super exciting.

Or not?

I now have absolutely no idea.

Regardless, Doomsday continues to sound like the most random movie ever…

As for the Doom of it all, unless critics weren't shown both credit scenes (I haven't heard either way), I feel like we'd either know, or it would be heavily hinted by now, if he made an appearance in any capacity. But no one's freaking out or losing their minds in that regard, so for now I'm assuming either no Doom or at least one credit scene is being saved for Thursday (which I don't think Marvel has ever done, though I could be wrong).

Yeah, well all of those tweets are great but they don't matter. Because its guaranteed this film won't make at least $1billion domestically, which means it'll be a certified disaster. No arguing about it. Book it.

I don't give a sh** about tweets or how much the movie makes. It has my $15 for a morning showing this Friday.

As opposed to the Galactus cloud/copout from Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Daily Beast review by Nick Schager

"terrible" and "a final nail in the superhero movie coffin"

- The Daily Beast's review of Superman, currently sitting at 83%.

"the worst kind of vampiric bloodbath" that is both "sloppy" and "disappointing"

- The Daily Beast's review of Sinners, currently sitting at 96%.

"it will save the decaying Marvel universe" and is "as vital as its most successful predecessors, including Captain America: The Winter Soldier"

- The Daily Beast's review of Captain America: Brave New World, currently sitting at 46%.

Nice try, though.

So no Galactus dong? I might have to skip this one now.

Nice try by who?

Surely you aren't throwing shade on the journalistic excellence of the Daily Beast?

Maybe you have been spending too much time on twitter and got infected by the right wing mind virus?

As for me, I don't hold out anymore validity to their review than I do any of the other fan boys on twitter. I'll wait and form my own opinion.

I loved it. I'll be going back to see it in theaters. I'm historically not a fantastic four comic fan. This movie is well done. I think this director should be given the Avengers movies after Secret Wars.

I just got home. I could sit through the opening of this movie multiple times in a row. Watched that with a smile. F4 is one of my earliest memories from Saturday morning cartoons, along with SuperFriends. I thought they made the best F4 movie with First Steps.

Shalla Bal and Norrin Radd (the original male silver surfer) were lovers and he became the Herald for Glactus to save her. That was the story back in the 60s. I don't recall when they made her the surfer
