Sandler and Clooney is kind of a crazy combo.

Prediction: the second part never comes out

Churches will flood theaters for the first part guaranteeing a level of success that will allow the second to come out in my opinion.

He was making a joke. Also, the second one will have already been shot/made, seeing as it's coming out only two months later.

Was anyone really asking for an origins story for John Rambo that we didn't get through exposition in First Blood?

Completely agree, we know everything we need to know about John Rambo's history. And it'll be directed by the guy who directed Sisu, and written by the guys who wrote Black Adam.

What's funny is that I actually like both of those movies, at least for what they were. I just don't see the need for this new John Rambo.

Sisu was cheesy fun (ridiculously cheesy). Black Adam I simply don't remeber because I got bored during it. But neither of those give me hope this will be anything other than cheesy, once more doing a disservice to the greatness of First Blood.

Black Adam was a fun though forgettable movie in a universe that was known to be on its last legs by the time that movie was released.

Having said that, we certainly agree on the likely outcome of this Rambo prequel (or is it a reboot). Totally unnecessary since we already know enough to understand where the character is coming from and how he becomes this "bad ass killing machine" (however Trautman described him to Teague).

When it comes to John Rambo's backstory and what happened to him in 'Nam, I honestly think less is more. Leave at just what they showed in First Blood - the flashbacks and his tortured responses to the police in that small town.

Agreed. That's part of what makes First Blood / Rambo a good story and movie.
