Was anyone really asking for an origins story for John Rambo that we didn't get through exposition in First Blood?

When it comes to John Rambo's backstory and what happened to him in 'Nam, I honestly think less is more. Leave at just what they showed in First Blood - the flashbacks and his tortured responses to the police in that small town.

EXCLUSIVE: There's a Kobe Bryant movie in the works at Warner Bros. from the producers of KING RICHARD and @TomBrady's production company Religion of Sports.https://t.co/oHwhMPcV5M

Quote:
It's still very early days, but Alex Sohn and Gavin Johannsen wrote the script, which isn't a traditional biopic, but rather a draft-day thriller that takes place in the two weeks leading up to the 1996 NBA Draft, where Bryant was famously drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 13th pick.
So, why is the project called With the 8th Pick?
That's because the main character is really John Nash, the General Manager of the New Jersey Nets, who held the 8th pick in the draft. Nash and incoming coach John Calipari were fixated on Bryant in the days leading up to the draft.
