I love horror movies, but I wish we could get back to Freddy and Jason style scary monster movies. These jump scare movies with the same decayed corpse looking being all look the same.
On one hand there's some really great, original horror being made now by smaller studios, while at the same time most of the horror being made by the bigger studios all looks/feels the exact same.
Like, I could not be more excited for Obsession and Backrooms, but you could not pay me to see this or the next Insidious movie or whatever.

Completely agreed on Backrooms. That trailer legitimately creeps me out.
Obsession looks good, too, but brings up some PTSD from some college girlfriends, so I might skip that one.
There is a genre of horror games where you find anomalies in a scene. They made a movie out of one in Japan called Exit 8. The game was really good, but I haven't checked out the movie, yet.
