SLJ was in a post-credit scene in Infinity War with speaking lines.

The missing piece you guys are forgetting about for ScarJo was she was in both of the "Sing" movies as the voice of a porcupine and she's in Favreau's "The Jungle Book"as the voice of Kaa the snake.
Sing made $631m worldwide in 2016, its sequel made $404m in 2021 - that's an extra billion. The Jungle Book made $951 m worldwide in 2016 as well.

Lol, well, saw this coming. Clay Travis' joke of a clickbait website, Outkick, is claiming Superman "disappoints" at the box office this weekend because of Gunn's immigrant comments. The author of the article cherry picks the highest pre-release estimate of $155 million and claims that because it didn't reach that mark its a disappointment. And of course they desperately want to lay the responsibility for that at the feet of conservatives who didn't watch it because they were turned off by Gunn.
Once upon a time that site produced some decent and even sometimes good articles that raised valid points. But once they stumbled upon producing faux outrage clickbait articles written on an 8-grade reading level it became a site only worth stopping by for an occasional laugh.
100%. I saw that and felt legit embarrassed for him. Just a completely off-the-mark take. On the same weekend he's going out of his way to defend Trump on the whole Epstein thing as well. I actually agree with Travis a decent amount, but this weekend for him is just an all-around terrible look.

On a budget of $180M even with distribution and advertising spend adding $100M at the high end that's a total sunk cost of $280M.
At $280M it needs to make $560M to break even and it is almost there.
That's not a failure by any measure. Slightly disappoint at best. They wanted to make $100M + for sure. But they won't lose money and thats before cable, PPV, streaming revenue.
Oh there is certainly a measure of failure. That's called "diminishing returns for your franchise".
This one's already there. The next one will be worse because they burned everyone with this one.
Rushing a sequel in for a quick buck is a thing…now what's Jurassic 8 gonna look like? The diminishing returns show you- not good.

I haven't seen the latest Jurassic World movie, but let's be honest the plot well was already pretty well tapped out on this franchise long before this movie got greenlight.
The fact it is going to make any profit and be a top 10 profitable movie is probably pretty good for the studio.
That being said a prequel showing Hammond forming InGen, creating the dinosaurs, and building the first park with some corporate espionage and more of a corporate thriller could be awesome. If we are feeling really jazzy, maybe make it in that docutainment style like BlackBerry or Air.
