Nobody needed to start it, and you got mad when you lost, rather than just pay up to charity, not to me.

He went extreme that Jurassic Rebirth was gonna be top 5 of the year.

I said "lol, not happenning" and he dropped his dck on the table betting money (unnecessarily). And I said "absolutely, not happening. But sure, I'll take you up on it."

He doesn't like being wrong, so he freaks out when he is. But nobody but him asked to put money on the the table.

Rather than just say "I was wrong" and donate to charity, he creates an "oh my god, I'm so scared".

In the process, he's continually brought up things I mentioned once, off-handedly, years ago, that have nothing to do with the bet, that would require either hours if not days of posting history research - or - the pettiest of memories, connecting dots to my behavior in ways that make absolutely no sense, never mind how wrong/insulting his claims are.

Multiple posters have clocked it, commented on it, and asked him to dial it back, etc. He's been banned a couple times as well. Yet, as you can see, after all these months, he still can't help himself.

Come December 31, should I lose, I have no problem donating the $100 to charity or whatever else and posting a screenshot here. What I refuse to do is engage with him anymore on this site, and certainly not off this site, in any way where information between us would have to be exchanged (on Venmo, etc). Unfortunately, he has proven to be borderline manic, if not highly suspect, and I would be an idiot to risk any kind of engagement in that regard.

Oh lord. He's such a drama queen (not that that's news). He legit doesn't like being wrong, and gets upset about it when he is. And I told him from the start when he started dropping money that it was straight to charity and not to me. I don't want his personal info.

He just doesn't like being reminded he was wrong, and freaks out about it.

I love it.

Feels like a strong "end" to the summer, even though we technically still have three weeks left. But yeah, this was the last big release before awards season, and proves once again that audiences are craving original fare.

Belloni took the over (+/- $30M) on both Weapons and Freakier Friday, but he definitely didn't see $40M+ coming, and I'm looking forward to hearing him and Lucas discuss tomorrow.

Either way, combined with Fantastic Four dropping off a cliff, I think it signifies a bit of a sea change. Superhero movies aren't going anywhere, obviously, but they're going to have to earn their keep with great scripts and originality going forward, which is a good thing.

Yeah, it's about to get a little bleak at the box office until October, but that's typical. Maybe the next Conjuring movie does some numbers over Labor Day weekend, but that will be about it.

And last I read, mid-to-late-July-ish, this year is 10% higher YTD box office-wise compared to last year. We've had a good August so far, so my guess is that's held, but I don't know for sure.

The 10% I saw a month or so ago was worldwide, but with international numbers being what they are as of late, maybe that 5.3% is roughly the same.

Summer is officially over, and it looks like total box office was slightly down YoY.

There's a good chart in this article I can't copy. It shows that aside from 2020 and 2021, this summer was the worst box office since the 1980's, slightly worse than last year and way worse than pre-pandemic summers.
