We were row 2 on the aisle on the right side. Near the drunk dude that kept leaning over the railing making everyone think he was going to fall, then he just passed out.

Dude... I think I was sitting across the aisle over your left shoulder (tall blond guy wearing a black shirt from a bar in Roppongi, Tokyo).

At one point I thought that drunk guy might actually be dead. And then he came back to life and moved a little bit.

I think you might have been there when I arrived just before Crystal Method and there was a lady in my seat and I had to ask her to move.

The seat numbering was kind of weird because as you went down every row, the seat number changed so it would be easy to land in the wrong seat.

I agree that last night Crystal Method was better than Oakenfold.

The Cult tonight!
Looks like they maybe don't go on until about 9:30, which might be tough for the age of their target audience...

The 25% or so of that lineup that I like is pretty damn good.

Saw Tonic and Collective Soul last Saturday

Neither disappointed.

Ed was his 28 year old self. Dean was in outer space

If Ministry, Prodigy, KMFDM and Lords of Acid are all playing the same stage on the same day, I would be there in a heartbeat.

Paul Oakenfold Sunday night at Houston HOB

I assume I'm on my own for this one. Any of y'all showing up?

I last saw Oakenfold at a warehouse in Miami probably in 2001. The Internet has no record of this show ever happening. I guess I'd have to go back and check old credit card statements or something.

I'll be there in the balcony. I've only seen Oaky live here in Houston several years back but I have all his albums from his Trance days. Will see him again at Dreamstate So cal next month.

Never seen Crystal Method live. Really interested to see if they still play live music or just DJ.

I didn't know anything about The Crystal Method but, I did enjoy it.
Kind of funny that it's just one guy who is my age (b. 1970).

When did the Crystal Method become only one guy? I used to see them in the 90's and it was always two and always a great time.

I was supposed to see Elton John in Anaheim this Saturday but my plans have fallen through at the last minute which is a real bummer because I've never seen him before and not many chances left since he quit touring.

Dwight Yoakum and Marcus King last Friday. I know the genre doesn't fit this thread perfectly, but Dwight is the Tom Petty of Country music, and Marcus King is Chris Stapleton Extreme.

Great show, if you're into bands without double pedal bass drums.

I saw them at so many places I don't even remember!

At least six.. seven places around Houston (including woodlands pavilion!) and 3-4 in CS, plus austin one time. Hung out with them at Taco cabana one time in jersey village after a show at fuggettaboutits (sp?)

Always such nice guys and down to earth guys and man they knew how to write some catch *****.

I saw the B-52s and Devo are coming to woodlands Nov 2.

If I wasn't having back surgery that weekend, I might have attended.

Song-wise, I might agree with you about Dwight Yoakam. But I've seen him live a few times, as recently as last year, and performance-wise, he's not in Tom Petty's league at all.

Petty's live shows were engaging, fun, and unpredictable. He'd pull out a cover you weren't expecting, or let the audience sing, and it was magical.

Yoakam, on the other hand, barely talks to the audience, and other than shimmying across the stage a number of times, really doesn't have that exciting of a show. His music is great, I love his songs. But he's not the showman that Petty was.

Dwight's show has slowed down a bit, I saw him as far back as the early 90s (91 or so) and he was a lot more animated. Seen him probably close to a dozen times now and he has definitely slowed a bit.

Maybe they can judge demand by number of people who sign up for the presale?

Tacodome got me pretty good. Strangely hadn't heard that one before. Iron Maiden on the heels of Rush a few days before. Love us some rock/metal in this town.

Two guys I knew from high school (we all played in bands) had joined a band with a couple guys from Sugarland in the early 90's. They needed someone to run lights for them and help keep their sound man in check (he didn't have an ear for mixing but had money and bought them equipment so he got to be sound man).

I worked many gifs where load out was after 2am, then we would go eat as a group (usually at Champs - they loved that place), and then drive back to Lake Jackson and grab a shower and go to work.

Maybe get a nap for an hour in the parking lot before people started showing up.

I don't know how badly that would go if I tried it now.
