Hoping for more dates in TX. That's a Tuesday night in San Antonio

3 buddies and I did a Metallica S.A. show on a work night once.. drove back to Houston after.

Man to be in my 20s again!

Back in 2008, I was on pharmacy school in Kingsville. A classmate and I drove to Houston for Metallica at Toyota Center. I had an 8am exam the next morning. We made it back in time.

I'm highly tempted to drive from Houston for this show and make it back for work next day. Iron Maiden playing their set everything before Fear of the Dark album will be killer! And with Megadeth is cherry on top. Two of my favorite bands

Tonight is what's left of Great White. Opener Quiet Riot... meh, with the exception of Rudy Sarrzo.

Picked up a pair 12th and center for $64 OTD.

Great White has some great songs. I've never seen that version of the band I was more of a Jack Russell fan and got to see him twice before he passed.

I missed JR... regretfully I should have visited the strip more often in the 80s.

Mark Kendal and Michael Lardie made up for the absence of Jack. The new singer was awesome, and his energy was high.

1:15 minute show. Tight. Rock Me nailed it.

Quiet Riot played 20 minutes longer that I liked... but it was just plain bang your head material, no pun intended. Rudy Sarzo was the draw.

Earplugs for my wife and a $28 martini (5-6 shots GG/heavy pour) escalated her tolerance (she's a Swifty). In and Out after the show... MMMMmmmmm... I love their fries and the double double sealed the evening.

I saw Great White open for Judas Priest on the Defenders of the Faith tour. Great White's single was "Stick It".

Saw them again with Ratt and Poison in '99 and they were great.

Glad they still gave you a good show.

Corrosion of Conformity kicked ass, Rob's voice is still phenomenal, and while it was a bit weird hearing a 77 year old singing about his muscle of love and all the other innuendos in his songs, Alice put on one hell of a show. Nita Strauss is a mad woman on guitar.

Just bought Maiden/Megadeth tickets for next September in Charlotte. Needing a show on a weekend so I can take the kids.

My oldest will be a freshman in Aggieland next fall. I'm probably going to buy tickets for SA, too.

I hope they add a Texas weekend show.

Edit:

Just got the SA show, too.

It is really cool to see these rock bands playing stadiums again. Sammy Hagar just announced a Europe stadium tour. I prefer club level shows when at all possible but nice to see them selling out big venues for the first time since the late 90s.

Section E Row 14 Aisle seats were $232 all-in. I think face value was $194.

Section G Row 14 Aisle seats were $159 all-in.

I didn't think that was too bad. I paid about $175 for the Fort Worth show last year for 2nd level corner seat on the secondary market. That was the day of the show.

Picked up two Zak Sabbath pit/orchestra tickets for tonight's show at The Show (Aqua Caliente venue), Rancho Mirage. First night of his tour. Recent vid footage paints the show meh... but it's metal and I need something live.

Two pit tickets out the door $19.60. I love Stubhub.

They're a lot of fun, been a fan of his since No Rest For The Wicked, and seen Zakk Sabbath a few times. You'll have a blast if you're not expecting note-for-note covers, and don't mind ridiculous shredding and a lot of pinch harmonics. It will definitely be loud and proud!

Headed out to San Diego on Saturday for the Deftones show at Petco - have no idea about any of the others on the bill, seems to be pretty rap/other centric

Pretty much an just excuse to go see Deftones and dick around in San Diego for the weekend

deafhaven.. aren't you a metal guy?

they are like shoegaze metal (labeled blackgaze). Interesting.. the music can be pretty melodic at times, but it's certainly not for everyone.

I prefer Astronoid's take on the genre, using clean vocals.

This morning, I got in on the Iron Maiden presale for the newly added 2nd date (Saturday) in Los Angeles.

They are doing a massive GA pit at the front but, I think I'm too old to want to stand the whole time at a soccer stadium in the bad part of town so I just got a single floor seat for $200.

It seems crazy buying tix 11 months in advance without knowing what the Texas A&M Football schedule will be in September 2026.

Is it mostly Cookie Monster vocals?

not deafheaven.. it's more black metal style, the screech, mixed with clean vocals.

Interestingly.. a comment not far down in sunbather link;
" This is beautiful. It's like Atmospheric Shoegaze Metal. Kind of like if Deftones had a Black Metal vocalist. "

*editing to add.. apparently they had a much more approachable album in 2021, more like post rock kinda sound.

Astronoid is high pitched, almost falsetto like, clean vocals all the time from what I've heard, and a bit more pop oriented melodies and loads of harmonized vocals. They aren't afraid to bust in to blast beats.. which makes it black metal-ish.

They apparently toured with blink 182 recently.

I thought about the football schedule, too. But at this point, I'll go see Maiden on their potential final tour and Megadeth that has already said they are retiring. The Aggies are just as likely to be playing Directional U as any other team.
