Just book the arena show, and I feel like people show up. Way more casual fans of bands. These bigger shows get more publicity, and you have more people ending up with fomo for the big show.
AWOL at summit? no publicity, no one knows about it unless you follow them specifically.
Another weird thing I experienced recently... I saw incubus just in Sept do their 'Performing MORNING VIEW In Its Entirety + The Hits' at Ball arena. Easily got a ticket well after on sale date, reasonably priced, like $100 for lower level 11th row.. pretty close.
They are coming again this year, billed as the same 'Performing MORNING VIEW In Its Entirety + The Hits', but this time at red rocks.
GA which is way in the back are $200, secondary tickets in the sold out reserved seating are $300-$400+, and up close is thousands.
