I'm curating, which most people seem to appreciate.

Yes, there are complaints from time to time about the hyperbole often found in the reactions themselves, but in all the years I've been doing this, no one has ever once complained about the "load" time of the tweets themselves. Especially with over-the-top descriptions like "insufferable."

You're literally the first.

Congratulations.

Which is why I genuinely wonder if it might be a phone issue or internet connecting thing on your end. I know that I, personally, have never once had a loading problem.

That said, if enough people want me to cut back, I have no problem doing so. But good lord, it's only one page of tweets. I'm sorry it was such a burden for you.

I would say maybe just cut it to 3-5 high profile tweet reviews per movie but that's just my opinion.

That's no problem. I might do more for bigger movies, but for a movie like this less I agree it could have been less.

Yeah, the Snatch gypsy power ranger finish was very odd.
Were they purposely going for a Jimmy Savile vibe with that character? That's immediately who I thought of when he popped on screen.

Went to see this last night & IMO it definitely had its ups and downs, and WTFs.
Ups:
*The acting. The four main characters were superb, especially Spike the son.
*The scenery. Really have an urge to explore rural England now.
*The first act: Father/Son journey into the wilderness, really resonated with me.

Downs:
*Did not like the random clips of historical films sprinkled within.
*The Swedish guy seemed random & stupid.
*The handling of Spike's mom at the end.

WTF:
*The last 5 minutes was just b*t**** crazy & not in a good way. Ridiculous & out of character with the rest of the movie.

I also have to say that reading WWZ kind of ruins scenarios like this for me. In the book, governments have systematic, logical methods for dealing with Zombie infestations in all manner of situations (Even underwater!) Here the world just gives up on the UK which is completely illogical.

Just got out. This movie was weird AF. Anywhere from a 5/10 to 9/10, I don't know yet. Need more time to process.

Did they ever say why other governments wouldn't just airdrop the pockets of survivors meds and weapons to help them out? That was in the back of my mind the whole time.

No, but I was wondering the same. Also, the survivors sure didn't care about retrieving their limited supply of arrows either…

They didn't want to risk exposing themselves to the blood. Possible spatter when they pull it out. Sharp arrow covered in infected blood. Dangerous to retrieve. Dangerous to handle after retrieval.

I actually liked the movie a lot. It is very weird and the more you just embrace it the better. The quantity of zombie dong wasn't that bad, but it was heavy on quality. 28 Inches Later might be a more appropriate title.

Side rant, but going to the movies has become a completely unenjoyable experience. We saw it at Edwards Greenway Plaza and I guess I paid extra for some new stupid ass "movie going experience" called ScreenX. What an absolutely ******ed and unnecessary cash grab. It makes the screen 270 degrees of viewing but it was the dumbest sh/t ever. All they did was make the main screen smaller and then the image would stretch on the side walls. Cool, except for the giant gap in the corners between walls and the facking exit signs on both side walls. I guess it is my own dumbass fault for not realizing what I purchased.

Commercials and previews before the movie were ridiculous. Showtime was 7:15, but the movie didn't start until 7:47. I don't want to watch 15 minutes of facking Amazon commercials with LeBron James and then another 17 minutes of previews for awful looking movies. That's a quarter of the actual movie runtime.

Last point, people facking suck. I had an annoying ass woman and her son on my left and my wife had a nasty woman coughing and hocking up a lung to her right. The woman to my left would not shut the fack up and would say oh no, oh no, oh no, noooo during every suspenseful scene. She was also a facking spaz and was squirming and tying and untying her hair constantly. Her dumbass son laughed at everything even when there was nothing funny.

Thanks for letting me vent. I think I am done seeing movies in the theater.

I tend to wait at least a week after release and then go to a late showing. Typically have a pretty empty theater with a few other dudes who want to STFU and enjoy the show. Going on the opening few days at peak time and you're going to endure the unwashed masses.

That was incredibly weird.

But also ****ing incredible.

Man, I did not expect to love this as much as I did, nor did I realize how much I missed that frenetic-but-oddly-inspiring, early-to-mid '00s, Danny Boyle energy.

The look, the vibe, and feel of this thing.

The soundtrack.

The lead kid.

All absolutely amazing.

More movies like this, please, with a unique vision, legit emotion, and something to say.

Hell yeah.

Avoid ScreenX, 4DX, D-BOX, etc like the plague. It's all gimmicky, theme park bull**** that attracts the worst patrons. Stick to regular theaters, IMAX, and Dolby Cinema only. Other than that, I'm not going to say don't go opening weekend, because personally I think that's the best time to go, but at least try either going on a weeknight or waiting until the second weekend before giving up on theaters entirely. Or maybe just try a different/better theater.

I will echo TC. I've learned to go second weekends to avoid as much of this annoyance as I can. Will do the same for Superman.

Just got out and I really liked it. Legit question for those who hated it, I'm curious what you were expecting or wanting from this movie? I feel like this is peak Danny Boyle filmmaking.

Certainly the Clockwork Orange crew at the end didn't care about risk when they went into Kill Bill mode.

To me, the trailer looked like more of the same, but I thought this one had a much slower vibe. The terror and helplessness wasn't there. Some people got chased a few times, but the main characters always got away. Only some no name soldiers we didn't know got killed (not counting the mom in this).

The kid was able to freely walk around with his sick mom without a ton of fear as well. I know the setting was more rural, so there weren't as many people around, but it just felt a bit empty. Someone else mentioned it just felt "small."

There were some parts of the movie that were overall good, but it felt like it never got where it needed to go and was just not the vibe I was expecting. Knowing there is a sequel does change things as well. It seemed like there could be based on that final scene, but I didn't know ahead of time.

****ing loved it. 28 Years Later is the exact type of genre film that people should be championing-a weird, emotionally-driven exploration into thematic material not usually covered by mainstream filmmakers.

Once you understand that it is a coming-of-age story that just happens to feature zombies, everything falls into place story -wise.

I loved it.

Just got back from a sold out showing.

So with the fat infected, did the rage virus affect their hormones/metabolism? Similar to how the Alphas were jacked up on testosterone, but in the opposite direction?

The ending was super random, to me it felt like a post credit scene, maybe it should have been but I still really liked the movie overall. Looking forward to the next installment.

According to Reddit they were racist caricatures of fat bottom feeding Asians.

The more I think back on this movie the more I like it. It was so weird and so unique. I also really liked the soundtrack.

I don't understand the comments saying it wasn't suspenseful. My wife was hiding under her sweater most of the movie and the spazzy ass lady next to me was freaking out as well.

I almost wonder if the end of the movie was filmed by the director of the next movie. It was just so different from the rest of the film. But, I have a hard time believing Danny Boyle would let another director film the ending of his film.

Well said. I thought it had some flaws, but the emotional impact and imagery was oustanding. There are several scenes that I found very haunting. I haven't seen a movie that made me think about it several days later like this in a while. On a side note, my theater was basically emtpy.

The idea above about making the last scene post-credits is spot on. Get whatever setup they were looking for done without putting a really out of place turn on a solid emotional finish
