Thinking about For All Mankind and wondering what everyone thinks the worst series is as far as going from the highest of highs in the beginning to the lowest of lows by the time it ended. Hit me with your best/worst!

I think GoT did a pretty good exponential drop there at the end, but I can't imagine its even in the top 5 though.

The Office after Steve Carrell left. The plot is just whatever sticks on the wall after that.

The 2nd half of the last season was really good and tied everything up, but from Will Ferrell to James Spader, it was a mess.

I will vote for Walking Dead. The first 2 or so seasons were so good, then started going downhill fast after that until it became a chore to watch each episode.

Never watched the last season of House of Cards b/c of the Spacey stuff... so maybe that one?

Westworld kind of in a class of its own of almost finding it again just to bottom out multiple times.

The only real competition for Heroes is Westworld, and it's really close. The only reason Heroes wins out as the worst is because at least Westworld season 1 has an ending that stands on its own if you just don't watch the rest of the seasons.

I was prepared to crown GoT but I forgot about this. Definitely Heroes without a doubt.

Dexter was pretty rough as well.

Umbrella academy was awful.

Homeland got worse and worse and I quit watching when they killed off Q.

I think the more rare question is which series actually went out on top because I rarely think of anything besides breaking bad.

For me it's Westworld and Walking Dead. I just totally lost interest and I'm their target audience.

Walking Dead is up there for highest high to lowest low if that's all that matters, but it doesn't quite click the same for me because it was a fairly slow decline for a long time.

GoT also wasn't THAT bad until the absolute very end. More just like unnecessarily sped up but not to the point that I ever considered giving up on it really.

I offer up another Ronald D Moore joint like For All Mankind. The guy is just not a closer. I loved the first few season of this show. After that I don't think they had any freaking plan on where the show was heading.

It's too early in the morning to be drunk. BSG is the best show ever.

Dexter is #1, Heroes is a close #2. While Heroes had a bigger drop from season 1 to season 2, I don't think Heroes was ever as bad as the last season of Dexter.

Community w/out Donald Glover wasn't nearly as good. Still had its moments but Glover was the cornerstone of that show.

For me, one of the biggest disappointments was "The Old Man" with Jeff Bridges. I guess it hit its high with the pilot episode, one of the strongest pilots I have ever seen.

I think it kept some of its momentum the first half of season one, but it never quite returned after the break to deal with Bridges' cancer. The second season was just about unwatchable.

The first season of Heroes was just so good. And then, well, we saw what came after. So much potential though, could have been amazing.

That 70's show. When Topher Grace and Ashton Kutcher left, it got absolutely terrible. Randy anyone?

I'll say it….Stranger Things. Couldn't even make it through the second season.

And of course The Walking Dead. Personally, that's the only time a TV show made me feel like a battered wife. Went from appointment TV to feeling like I had to watch because I was already so invested to just finally getting fed up and walking away. I still have no idea (nor do I care) what happened to any of them after Rick finally had his chance to kill Negan and spared him. That was the ultimate jump the shark moment for me.

Prison Break probably fits this for most but I liked the whole thing regardless of how ridiculous it got.

but it fits because season one is ELITE and then it got pretty bad relatively.

That writer's strike killed off all that shows potential.

It would be easier to list the GREAT shows that had great well thought out endings. Almost every great show has problems with the end…either because it was never planned out properly or was speed up too much.

I can really only think of one series that truly was great from beginning all the way with the very end and that was breaking bad.

But one of my other favorite shows when it started was Stranger Things but it's clear they had no idea what they're gonna do with the show after season one and then by season five it was just a joke

I'd add "True Blood" to the list of good-to-bad, though I'm not sure it ever had the "highest of highs." That was still pretty solid TV for a while until it fell off badly.

The inverse is interesting, too. Shows with a slow start and a five-star ending.

#1 for me would be Parks and Rec. S1 is a tough watch, but it picked up steam every subsequent season, culminating in an awesome finale.

A close #2 would probably be Justified. Went from a fairly rote cop show to truly excellent television by the end, including the finale.

It might be Lost for me. I was so invested that first season and then it went progressively more off the rails. I know that's not a novel opinion, but I think it answers the question.

A lesser-known option would be The Black Donnellys. It got cut short so they kind of half-ended it, but I thought the parts they were developing were great.

I had zero interest in watching House of Cards without him in it. The wife was fine in a secondary role but the thought of her carrying the entire show without him in it did not sound enjoyable.
