Praying for the next Pope. Already there are factions attempting to influence the Cardinals. As in many families, some have a different focus than the others. We have a very large and growing family!

Realistically hoping for Erdo, Pizzaballa
Today I found out there is a real Italian Cardinal named Pizzaballa. I'm rooting for him to be Pope now so he can get a new, non-cartoon nameQuo Vadis? said:

mostly popes come from the college of Cardinals though it is not a requirement. there's only at best guesses on who is likely to be the next pope. this will be a very interesting conclave given that it is the largest ever. Pope Francis elevated many more bishops to cardinal across the world than his predecessors. many of these cardinals have barely met each other or not at all.10andBOUNCE said:
Just out of curiosity (not a catholic) how does one rise to be a front runner for pope? Is there a recruiting service like Rivals that assigns stars to various clergy across the globe?
Would that fall under a DEI hire?Furlock Bones said:also, there is some credence that we get our first Asian or first African pope since the 5th century.10andBOUNCE said:

I thought Tagle was fairly liberal.Furlock Bones said:
add to this that Catholic leadership in Africa and Asia is seen to be more conservative.

Tagle is extremely liberal, and should be disqualified for the CARITAS debacle under his watch.powerbelly said:I thought Tagle was fairly liberal.Furlock Bones said:

No. Scoundrels have been elected in the past. Others have been anti-popes.10andBOUNCE said:
Sorry another question - is this process considered to bring about an inerrant decision?
