I grew up in Cincinnati. Great town. Every Caucasian person I knew would not think about going to the jazz festival downtown at night. We all knew what the crowd was going to be.

Back in the late 70s, my roommate convinced me to go to a Commodores concert with her...in Houston. I think we were two of a few dozen white women at the concert. No one hassled us at all. And neither one of us thought a thing about it at the time.

My older brother who lived in Houston back then about had a heart attack when I told him that a few years after.

I understand and agree, however, that is a sad testimont to how hard and how far Cincinnati has fallen into the abyss of amoral behavior.

There was a completely different attitude back then. The violence we see today had to be nurtured by the likes of Al Sharpton and President Obama.

Wife and I stayed in downtown Dallas at The Adolphus for a staycation two years ago. We walked over to Dakota's for dinner which is about 2 blocks away. On way back from dinner, there was one of those black power religious groups on the corner of Elm and Akard "praying" and "preaching".

The problem is that their sermon message was that all white people needed to die.

2/10. Won't go back and stay.

That's sad. Had good memories there during multiple Cotton Bowls.

48 hour rule like yesterday

This is the sort of story that requires the 48-hour rule. Not one that ends in a woman being knocked out cold.

Quote:

" I haven't pushed to make it public before now because I was trying to let the school handle it. Today the school welcomed the attackers (some of their star players) back. So I felt they were sending a clear message that the coach and administrators value winning over all else. "

This happened on July 7th in a dorm at Presbyterian College. All the kids involved were Daniel football players. They were there at a FCA 7:7 football camp. The charges pending against the 3 attackers for attack by mob are in Laurens County, SC because that is where the attack happened.

Here is a statement written by the son who was the victim of this attack:

"This is one of the hardest things I've ever had to go through, and now I need to speak up for myself.

I'm a senior at D.W. Daniel High School in Central, South Carolina. On July 7th, during the first day of the FCA 7-on-7 camp at Presbyterian College, I was jumped and beaten by three of my teammates.

They came into my dorm room while I was showering. When I came out with only a towel around my waist, they told me, "If you try to escape, things are going to be much worse for you." ****** hid in the closet. ***** sat by my bed. ******sat on my roommate's bed.

They said they'd let me get dressed before they 'handled' me.

While I was putting on clothes, they pressured me to admit to something I didn't do. They claimed I had said the N-word in a group chat. I didn't.

Multiple teammates were coming in and out while I was trapped in my room but nobody thought to get a coach. One attacker stayed outside the room and left me in the room alone for a few seconds. I quickly set my phone under the dresser, propped up on my shoe, and right before the attack started, I used the camera app on my watch to start recording. That video is now with the police.

The attack left me with a serious concussion, along with bruises on my scalp and ribcage. Doctors told me I can no longer play contact sports. My senior season was taken from me not by injury on the field, but by a brutal, targeted assault based on a lie.

I've pressed charges. It's a legal matter now. But even after everything, those three are still on the team, still playing under head coach Chris Stone, who knows exactly what happened. He was in the building along with seven other coaches when this happened.

But it's not just Coach Stone. Principal Adam Russell and Athletic Director Benjamin Touchberry sat down with my parents and me in multiple meetings after the attack. They looked us in the eyes and said what happened to me was not acceptable. But those words turned out to be empty. The same players who did this to me are still walking the halls and representing the school on the field like nothing happened.

Meanwhile, I'm the one who lost everything I've worked for since 7th grade.

I'm not posting this for sympathy. I'm posting it because the truth matters, and too many people have been hearing lies.
This is what really happened to me. I'm still standing, and I won't stay silent.

This needs to be seen by everyone.
Why should they get to play football after ending my senior season before it even started?

All because Coach Stone, Principal Russell, and AD Touchberry didn't want to hold their "key players" accountable.

I don't want to hurt the team and I still love all of my teammates I didn't want anybody's season to be ruined over this, but it doesn't feel right knowing that they took my senior season away from me but they get to continue to play. I had nothing but good things to say about Coach Stone up until that day, and I don't hold him responsible for what happened to me. However, the response to the situation has made me feel like he did not truly care about my well being. He cared more about not losing his star players.

Where I disagree with the OP is that he puts the fault at the absence of government. To the contrary, government is the only thing preventing people like that from being hunted to extinction. If the government stops protecting them, they are done.

Head coach and AD need ass whippings in addition to those football players. As a parent, I'm not sure I'd be willing to simply let things play out with the authorities.

I wonder where we'd be today as far as race relations go if Obama hadn't been elected? Instead, we're stuck with a bunch of sons of Obama who think their skin color gives them free rein to commit whatever crime they want.

Whotf is this and why did I just waste 20 minutes of my time trying to listen to him? Way too much calling white people reactions racist and not near enough condemnation of animalistic behavior.

At one point implied, if not stated outright, that people saying it's a "jazz festival" are misrepresenting the story, because it was actually a festival for black music.

Normally Uncle Hotep shoots it pretty straight.

I think he hadn't heard the story yet and was reacting to it live.

Frankly, I posted the link before I'd watched it. I was expecting a little more from him.

We'll see how things look by Thursday night when he teams up with Hotep Jesus for Hoteps Been Told Ya.

I'm sure the MSM will bury this story. Hopefully it's still being discussed by Thursday.

Respective to the thread: for perpetrators of a crime, regardless of race, to be punished.
