I recall flipping through Obama's biography and seeing a part where he talks about one of his daughters, when they were little, asking him about what happens when you die. His explanation, to a child, was something to the effect of "We don't any more than we know about what happened before the Big Bang".

It sounds like the answer you'd get from an agnostic or atheist…which is what I think Obama is.

His alignment with social justice, anti-colonialism, socialist beliefs, aren't driven by faith or religion IMO. Religion was just a vehicle he used to win over voters and the communities he was part of.
