Maybe so but I hope Trump does not recognize the illegal seizure of Ukraine land as Russian territory. That would be a bad precedent to set. It would show us to be weak.

Just my opinion...I suspect a deal has more or less been done. If the reports that quite a number of Russian businessmen are present in advance of any announcement is true...that is a positive "tell tale" sign to me. I don't think they would be there is nothing was promising to them.

Heard some analyst on WBAP this morning say Trump mainly wants a "deal". ie money for USA.
guy said peace would come and Ukraine better get on board. LOL, lets see what happens.

I mean this is a big deal in the Arctic, I think Russian has about 40 icebreakers(including some nuclear ones) to our 2? Diplomacy and trade may be the better options then spending Billions on a new "American Heavy Icebreaker design and build fleet"

Well, I think we need some more ice breakers anyway, but yes they have a lot more 'arctic' to patrol/clear than we do. It's also not as though the Canadians have kept up, on their side, or that they are a reliable ally/partner either.

In truth, I believe the Russians, Canadians and others are all significantly 'behind' in their construction/maintenance of ice breakers though, especially outside of 'harbor' clearance vessels.

It's pretty late in the day, Moscow-time. Wonder how long this will go.

Putin flew in today shortly after Trump touched down, it's their journalists/press and other parties in the negotiating team that flew in yesterday.

Putin stopped in (the Russian city of) MAGAdan on their way, today, kind of ironically (made me chuckle anyway).

2.5 hours so far, and it's a pretty long day for these guys at this point, though I am not sure if Trump ever actually sleeps.
