CEOs are implicitly connected. They brought in H1Bs to displace American workers which causes white flight.

Ultimately 99% of social problems are connected to Corporations, CEOs and Politicians as they are willing to do anything to make money, ethical or not. Legal or not.

Having 12 high schools for a city of 230k+ seems abnormally high. Is that typical?

Here's the chart for the city I live in. Been here since around 1990. I have zero complaints. We're happy and appreciative. The schools are great, property values are solid, virtually zero violent crime and the food is awesome.



That said, now that I'm retired, I'm thinking about moving to live my sunset years with my peeps - old straight white republicans who speak English.

This is some kind of grand displacement or substitution. I'm not sure what to call it, but it's a theory of mine.

Zero complaints? What were voting patterns prior to the shift?

For me, yeah, little crime, but then again my area has never been crime riddled. Even in the last 10 years all of the Student Drivers have been an increasing PITA. Fighting with their cricket b.s. when kids are practicing. Crappy drivers everywhere. They buy houses that used to have horses and then they let all of that go to crap. I could keep going for awhile.

My neighborhood has almost completely turned over in Mckinney from mostly white to 1st generation Indian. It seems like 50% of the cars on the road are luxury cars with student driver stickers on them and adult drivers over 30 years old. The frequency of near-miss accidents from people stopping in right turn lanes with a green light or other bone-head moves is up 10-fold in the last several years.

I think white flight is real. I know we want to move because we no longer have neighbors that have any common interests. No college football, no baseball, no football. None of the Indian kids on our block are involved in organized sports. The Indian culture just doesn't seem to support assimilation, and there's little incentive to do so given there are entire friend groups that have immigrated from their street in Pune to the same block in Frisco.

When my kids are done I'll be leavig southlake. I have no desire to live in what north Texas suburbs have turned into.

It's gotten bad. Really bad. It's little India these days. Costco is always a fun time.

Apparently someone in India blessed the city with prosperity and ramped up immigration into overdrive. Good luck trying to be in the top ten percent of your class. Daughter is at Reedy. Weighted gpa is 5.08 and she's not in the top ten percent.

Lots of new families not moving in because everyone is sitting on 2-3% mortgage rates. Elementary schools are under enrolled. We're out soon so to hell with it, but yeah…..it's a thing.

That is truly sad to see. More and more H1B anchors devoid of American vibrance in Southlake by the day. What a fantastic American town it was. My nephew was on the football team and went to state last year. The Losers will destroy everything if we continue to allow them.

I agree with what you say. But that isn't really got anything to do with assimilating.

Also, we need to make the rules tight. Even if we hire Rajesh, we aren't hiring his mom and pop. At most his wife gets to stay, but no H4 spouse work visa for her. Let her compete within the limited pool like other H1Bs or sit at home and make sammiches for Rajesh.

Yeah - some changes for sure. the driving is really awful. I'd be lying if i said it never bothers me. Yards and houses aren't as well maintained. and of course the little asian ladies holding up the checkout line questioning the prices and dealing with coupons gets old. You have to get used to the idea that the newer folks have no concept of the needs of other people around them or about being genteel or courteous or considerate. But most people know that americans tend to be outgoing and want to greet strangers and chat with them - so at places like the gym or the coffee place asian guys are often anxious to make some kind of contact . Nobody is outright rude or consciously being a jerk. I guess the guys playing cricket at the park don't bother me at all. People are just different...I will say, the kids are generally polite and achievement oriented - and they grow up to be your average American person like you and me, except with immigrant parents.

Like I said, I'll be moving away at some point because I want something different. But this was a good place for my daughter to do most of her growing up. It just doesn't bother me the way it does other folks here.

Edit on the voting question: we had a chinese american gal republican who barely lost the congressional seat in '20. It was the last congressional election called in the nation - and it was so close, I'll bet there were Democrat/sacramento shenanigans that had a hand in the "decision".

If they are on H1B, then they will have to renew at some point. That is when they will go back to India to renew and be denied at the embassy and not be allowed to get back into the country. They'd sell the house remotely or it goes to foreclosure and house prices will fall and they will all be out in due course. Be patient.
