Sounds like explosions were before the attack on Kuwait

I'm fine with 3, though it likely has political ramifications for mid terms if it continues for too long. I don't like Trump continually announcing we are close and then nothing happens. No one believes him at this point
I think the most pertinent question is whether he himself believes it.

The F-15's shot down in Kuwait weren't at fault. They were in supposedly safe airspace and were attacked by an allied fighter.
So the first thing dad told me was he didn't have enough information to judge the guy, but the above statement about friendly fire holds true. He said that really wasn't the guy's fault. They weren't exactly on guard for it, which is why all three of them went down.
The incident in Iran was a pretty high risk mission in that the Eagles were flying very low level operations. He said he hadn't yet heard what the reason for that was, but flying at that altitude can be very dangerous if the opposition has shoulder fired heat seeking missiles.
But he did say this guy is either the unluckiest dude on the planet, or the luckiest.
He's been shot down twice in combat within a month, but on the other hand, he survived both of them intact.
Either way, I wouldn't want to go to Vegas with him.

I'm very close with said individual. Sometimes s*** happens in major combat ops and guys/gals are unlucky. The details of why/how it happened in Iran won't be public for a long time, and probably never understood by anyone that hasn't flown fighter aviation.
