I'm not saying give up the farm but you've got bland at Diggs at CB. The DL has been decent. It's clear this team lacks any speed at LBer. You get overshown back at some point but it might be too late.

You just can't keep playing w Sanborn. He's a huge liability.

The schedule is pretty soft the next few weeks so he should be back by the time the gauntlet happens.

I hope so. I was thinking closer to thanksgiving.

Nah, this is a two year defensive overhaul. If the young OL pan out and we resign Pickens the offense is set for whatever time Dak has left as an high level starter and you can address RB in the 3rd-5th round history has shown. You need to use most/all of those six picks in the first two rounds the next two years on defense and make a few big FA signings.

This team is too many players away to be trading early round picks. This team has a chance to be very good at some point in the next 2 years if you play it right and Dak's prime lasts until 35ish.

I bet there's a LBer on a practice squad that is better than Sanborn.

Nope. I noticed he was on the sideline on 3rd and short. 47m/year for a pass rush specialist. I like where Dallas stands at the end of this.

I've liked the trade from the beginning…

Dude can rack up individual stats, but rarely is he the difference in a meaningful game…

Plus, he's always dinged up, and his production tapers off late in the season…

So glad we traded that drama queen…

so now we got that out of the way and fought them to a tie, I am just going to enjoy the season for what it is with no expectations.

While I tend to agree with this sentiment, I do want to see how this defense looks in a few more games if and when they get Caelen Carson, Perrion Winfrey, Shavon Revel Jr. and Overshown back. Overshown I think is still another four weeks away at minimum, but Carson should be back in short order, and then Winfrey and Revel should probably start practicing in the next few weeks. And while I recognize that Carson, Winfrey and Revel are not game changers, I do think they are better than what we have out there right now in their respective roles.

So say we get those guys back, we remain relatively healthy and we get better. Would adding another legit d-lineman and linebacker make enough of a difference to get your defense to at least average? Maybe, maybe not. I don't want to write it off yet because players now are better than future picks if you can get them, especially ones under contract, and we are so bought in to win now with this offense. But overall yes I think you're just going to hold firm because the defense is likely that poor.\

Last thing I'll add is this; there's some really, really bad football being played all over the league right now, so while we sit here and bash on the defense, and rightfully so, you can point to a dozen other teams with horrible issues and major concerns.

Even if that comes to pass we'll be in such a hole that making the playoffs this year seems extremely unlikely. Especially given how backloaded our schedule is. This team could be leaps and bounds better by November and still be losing just because the quality of competition does up so much.

Was there any explanation given as to why they had Nate Thomas subbing in at both OT spots? I've heard Broaddus say before that he was challenging both Steele and Guyton for playing time.

I think that's about it. Seems to me that they see him as a guy who can develop into being better than one of, if not both of them. Steele is also expendable after this season, so if he can be a solid tackle maybe it allows you to bump Guyton over to RT where he probably should be at already.

Watching the Jets and Miami, if Eberfluse doesn't have a spy on Fields , he should be fired as soon as the game is over.
