I think CD's first drop and Ferg's still have a bit to do with no preseason time. I get wanting to keep them healthy, but this is the first time in 9 months they are thinking about being hit after a catch. Both drops felt like they sensed defenders. I don't want them chasing hospital balls in preseason, but making a few catches and feeling the physical part of the game can have some benefit

Yes, live fire for WR would be helpful I think.

Looking at the "madden football cam" (view from behind Dak) of the deep crossing route that Lamb dropped on that last drive.... I'm wondering if Tolbert distracted him just enough on that one.

Not sure if Tolbert ran the wrong route or what, but you don't usually have 2 WR in the same area. Tolbert was running a seem right up the middle and Lamb flashed around 5 yards in front of him and the trailing DB right as the ball was arriving.

It was still a ball that fell right into his lap so no excuses, but it sure felt like those guys, at the last minute, popping into his peripheral vision could have been the main cause.

I saw that too, but from the front view it looked like he was behind the play enough to not be a factor.

Looked like Tolbert broke off the route to me. IIRC I looked like he may have had the corner route , with lamb running the post, but then JT took his vertical like he would if Dak was scrambling

Just went over the game with a less emotional eye. Yeah, Lamb should made those catches.

The first two look like he's afraid to get hit and took his eye off the ball for an instant. The last diving catch was very tough but at his level catchable.

At this point I'd trust #3 to make those catches over CD.

CD is a weird dude. No telling what's on his mind…

PS. Did I say Dak's tackle after the fumble recovery was awesome?

I dont think he's afraid to get hit, the first one i think he is already looking at the moves he needs to make to break it big instead of watching it in.
2nd one its just a 40 yard full sprint drop. No excuse there

It's also weird that everyone seems to forget he dominated the 1st half

Cowboys had hurts stopped dead in his tracks, actually going backwards on the second one, and 88 and 26 just picked him up and slid him over the defense. Honestly, I don't believe he made it even with that, on the first one. No way that should be legal.

Its not football, its rugby. I dont know how you eliminate it but they should

Eliminating it is easy. Go back to the old rule where you can't push your ballcarrier. Worked thru 2005 just fine

News from GB is Parsons is going to try to play, but he will be on a pitch count (so to speak)…

Still glad we traded him for high value before he gets re-injured again…

That's a really expensive pitch count

You make it legal again for defenses to be able to push each other as well. Makes no sense for it to be legal on one side of the ball only. It was outlawed in the defensive side due to "player safety" which is a crock of **** if you continue to allow it with ball carriers.

Since he got his contract and trade, I figure his fake injury will heal pretty quickly.

You eliminate it by actually enforcing the neutral zone. Eagles routinely have 3-4 linemen lined up in the neutral zone on the tush push

At the very least it wouldn't be as automatic

Saints just called for offensive offsides on a tush push. Oh yeah and Kellen Moore is the Saints head coach and was the Eagles' OC last year.

Let's hope Russ is still the Giants' QB when we play them next week. He's been abysmal

Everyone predicted NY to be bad. I think their DL is gonna enough to at least not let offenses run away from them all year but their offense is atrocious.

Dart will be starting soon enough and hopefully it won't be next week against us. I don't know how good he will be but his teammates love him and will play extra hard.

He'll at least be able to see/anticipate receivers open, make on time passes, and improvise when necessary. At least give Nabers chances to go get it in 1v1.

Russ didn't do any of that today.

My want to overreact is hitting the panic button on them from what I've seen so far. I do not like their o line and DBs at all.

Yeah I'm hitting the panic button if I'm a lions fan.

One thing I've learned so far today is just how important being able to run the ball on early downs is. NFL defense are so unbelievably fast and athletic, and fly down hill that you must be able to get 3-4 yards running early.

Green Bay's defense looks pretty good as is without Micah.

Saw on X the Eagles offered 2 firsts, a third, and a fifth for Micah. Jerry rightly told them to **** off.

I'm dubious of the Eagles being a true player for Micah. It wasn't just about having enough assets to make the trade, it's also about committing $47 million per year for at least '26 and '27, which I don't think they could do.

Derrick Henry is such a ****ing freak of nature. I will be pissed for a long time that the cowboys chose not to give him 2 for 12, when he was expecting to be a cowboy.

Derrick Henry was a big miss. I wanted him before Lamb and haven't changed my mind.

I never miss an opportunity to bring up his high school stats.

Senior year. 4,261 rushing yards and 55 touchdowns. He played every game, all four years. Averaged 250 yards and 3 touchdowns per game.

I was wrong about Henry. I thought he had lost a step.... NOPE!

Although, I might have been right in the fact that he wouldn't have been as effective behind our Oline last year. But he would probably have monster numbers with how the line looked in game 1.

One again we see that, at the extremes, great offense beats any defense in the modern game with the rules and schemes being what they are.

No matter how good your defense is, and Baltimore has probably the best or second best in the league, sometimes you just have to drop a 40 burger.

Henry with a HUGE fumble to give Buffalo what they needed to steal the game... Well I'll be darned, he would have been a great fit here in Dallas!

Ravens just choked on a big one. Lamar Jackson and their defense already in January form there.

If the cowboys did that, Dak would be getting raked over the coals, guaranteed.

I may be a bit biased, but Dallas -3.5 seems like easy money no? What am I missing?
