What we see as aggressive and what Jerry sees are completely different and that's the issue. In his mind they have probably been very aggressive because they brought in 4 new starters on defense added 40 plus in salary and tagged Pickens. They also tried to sign Walker and Dean. In fans mind, being aggressive would have been paying the extra money for a linebacker or grabbing a higher caliber secondary player.

I think the Jones set a number for someone and refuse to ever go above it and just assume players should come to them because they are the Cowboys.

Sadly, it's Jerry's way. But if you want that kind of talent to put you in Super Bowl contention, you gotta pay up front with your cap space. Look what the Chiefs have done so far this year. They want to keep winning- now.

I know we all dream of trading down and adding picks and what not, but I am not sure how much trading up and down there will be in this draft, at least in the early rounds. Sure, there will be some because there always is, but take Dallas' 20th pick. If I am being objective I just don't know how good that draft pick is in this draft. Who wants to trade up to get TJ Parker, or Blake Miller or Cashius Howell? There might be some, but my point is I bet we see a lot of teams just stay put because this is such a mid but deep draft.

I sorta think the opposite. I feel like there is a big sweet spot right in the middle of the 1st round for offense... large group of similarly graded O-line & pass catchers.

I think this will be the catalyst for a decent amount of 1st round trades.

For Dallas, I think this opens the door for trades at 12 & 20. We could move up or down at #12 with teams looking to position themselves at the start of the offensive run.... and at #20 we can trade back with teams looking to strike before the run on offense is ends.

You want to go sub 5, you'll have to pay the 12 and 20 and get a 3rd rounder. Or a first next year.
I would gladly do that to get a David Bailey.

There are no good deals at this time. Good deals will be apparent after the season is over…

I believe Jerry wants Crosby. Would the Raiders take a 12 for him? How about a 20? What would you do?

PS. Back in the day, I used to see Crosby at the Grapevine Rec Center frequently lifting with his Colleyville football players. Skinny red haired kid. Never thought he'd develop into the player he is today.

Agreed, very expensive to get into the top 5. I can't think of Jerry ever making a trade inside the top 5.

We did move from 14 to 6 to get Mo Claiborne several years ago. As I said before, I think 6 & 8 (CLE and N.O.) are the trade partners that might make the most sense if one of our top players drops.

Look, if you can get Miles Garrett with both ones (I personally don't think they will trade him), you do that deal 100 times out of 100.

I would see if there is something else you could leverage to get maybe a 3rd in return from them.

Maybe two firsts and Pickens and you get Garrett and their 3rd rounder.

I'm in the minority here I guess but I absolutely would not trade both 1s for Garrett. This defense has to many holes still.

You're not alone, I wouldn't either.

Love it or hate it, this team is financially (cap) committed to the offense. CP is gonna have to use a few vets and a whole lotta young guys to get it done on D. I'm optimistic we hired the right guy for the job... Really need the draft to go our way.

I get that but you are not going to find two guys that impact the game as much as Garrett does. You will still have draft picks to get players.

You're not. I wouldn't do it either since we are not a player away.

He's unreal and love him

He's a true 4-3 DE and we're switching to the 3-4 defense. He doesn't fit but id def take him if they could pry him. His cap hit is massive.
