Thanks for posting this picture of La Junta. I was in all of them myself along the hillside. Crazy to see one of the newer cabins washed off the foundation and about 100 yards away. I wonder if anything is left of the swimming dock and swing.

They do excellent work. We had them here in Rockport after Harvey and we contributed to them when they were in North Carolina for their disaster. They walk the walk!!!!
Do not give to Red Cross, they did NOTHING to help after Harvey, in fact, they were a hinderance.

Behind on the thread…trying to be social with neighbors. Was the Wiggle Inn article posted already? This is the Glenn I previously mentioned.

So were they able to stay in cabins like giggles/wiggles because the ceilings were so high?
We know that some cabins (like Wiggle Inn) were able to survive the flood on bunks/mattresses inside their cabins.
We know that some cabins scrambled on foot to higher elevation and were rescued there (like apparently Chatterbox)
We know that some cabins were evacuated together to the second floor of the Rec hall.
For Twins and Bubble Inn, the best guess is that they were on foot in the moment the flash flood surged.

It's heartbreaking to think that if the Bubble Inn campers had stayed in their dorm like Wiggle right next door they may have survived.InternetFan02 said:HarvardHouse00 said:

I hate to bring sad news but this is unlike. Wiggle had vaulted ceilings but Bubble did not. This is why Wiggle and Giggle could ride out the flood but Bubble tried to get out.
Is that the Glenn that helped out so many? He's a good guy and I think he has posted on Texags. Trouble would know for sure.InternetFan02 said:FTAG 2000 said:

Here's the screenshot of this story (posted in 2022) and it tracks with the CNN article that says he has assisted at Camp Mystic the past 4 summers

Here is my attempt to take the cutesy drawn camp map and put it onto the actual arial map of the camp. I may be slightly off with the cabins in the treeline but I am pretty sure this is fairly close to correct.
EXCLUSIVE: I just spoke w/ Coast Guard Petty Officer Scott Ruskan, who heroically saved 165 campers in the Central Texas floods.

This was his first official rescue.
