Does this mean they have now found all the bodies?
I don't think that is correct (the numbers...not saying you didn't hear that). 27 total, 11 of that still missing.agracer said:I heard this morning on local news that in addition to the 27, that 1 counselor and 10 campers are still missing from Mystic.gwdykes said:That is what I was wondering.DG-Ag said:gwdykes said:I hope all those families were notified before the camp posted this update. Definitely a subdued Monday. Things I thought important....just don't seem as important today. Heart hurts for those suffering. I've been following this thread since the first page but didn't want to post and clutter in that critical first day since I had no stake in this but woke up today just feeling awful for my extended Aggie family here and everyone else in the path of this disaster.
Love you all and though I am not of the praying sort normally, I have been praying for everyone.

The Fox 4 rainfall graphic going around showing the 3 trillion gallons I don't believe is correct. I think they did some funny math to be more sensational.
3 trillion gallons is equivalent to 9.2 million acre ft. Canyon lake at conservation pool is only about 350k acre ft of water storage and then flood pool is about 1m acre ft. Even using a really low runoff coefficient like 0.3 the reported 3 trillion gallons would be enough to fill the lake from empty to the top of the spillway 3 times and there's only been an 11ft rise total.
The real amount of rainfall over just the Guadalupe was probably more on the range of 5ish billion gallons.
Am I reading this wrong? Indicates they are still searching. So, given the amount of time that's past Mystic is assuming all are deceased?DTP02 said:

There are 27 that have been found and didn't make it. There are still 10 unaccounted for. Heartbreaking

I would wonder why they'd assume anyone not found yet is dead. Yes, it's been 3+ days now, but you can survive for almost a week with no food. Water would obviously be an issue.DG-Ag said:Am I reading this wrong? Indicates they are still searching. So, given the amount of time that's past Mystic is assuming all are deceased?DTP02 said:

I agree. They are with the Lord.909Ag2006 said:
Gosh, this situation is still kicking my tail this morning. But, I'll tell you what, even though I've never been particularly sure of my faith or religion, somehow I know for an absolute certainty that those girls are in heaven with God. I know it as sure as I am standing here. They are not here on this planet with us anymore, but they are not really dead. They are living in heaven. I know it for a certainty.

God wastes nothing, including natural disasters, tragedy, and the evil of humans. He allows such things for this reason you expressed, to draw others to him. God bless you. Hang onto faith.

derm - I know you don't know me from the man in the moon, but over time you've become one of my favorite posters and I'm confident we would be great friends if we ever met. My wife and I have been praying and will continue to pray for you and all the families affected by this terrible tragedy. God be with you, my friend!dermdoc said:

Experience.....
Finding a live victim at this point would be truly miraculous.
However, miracles do happen.
