Same. It has been difficult to find any motivation to be productive at work and I continue to just be a sobbing mess. Being from Beaumont, this was one that really hits home.

That's almost unimaginable. The water level rose an incredible amount in 6 minutes from 17:10 - 17:16.

I spend a lot of time out there in Hunt. at least 2-3 times a year, so I'm just in the edges of the community. But I will be there to help as soon as I can and for as long as I can. Mucked a lot of houses for Harvey and Wimberly. They need help now, of course, but will still be needing help for weeks, months, even years to come.

That's the hard part. They are being overwhelmed with resources at this moment.

But, in a month, 2 moths, 6 months, 12 months- can we still figure out of to get them what they need?

Starting to get a lot of first hand accounts. Directly hearing them myself. The camps had some warning and were doing things like moving canoes and waterside chairs up as early as 1am. The slow start to the event in my opinion contributed here as the real rush was 2.5+ hrs later.

It certainly sounds like they planned to move kids to the point at which there was lifetime flood levels and executed that. Then more than lifetime water came in and then some.

The surprise was perhaps not all the rising water was from the river. The water was described as coming from the mountain by one I heard. Which I suppose is possible. So they would try to climb up but water was pouring from above making the trails and roads up harder to manage

Sounds absolutely terrifying on all accounts.

From what I read the water that they thought was coming from mountains were coming from the streams above them. You can see them on the map. That was entirely unexpected and from what I understand completely unprecedented. So to them it cut off any escape beyond their normal plan.

At least that's how I understood it.

Thanks for the links. My wife and I did quite a bit of volunteering after Harvey, but that was almost all sheetrock and carpet removal, etc. We'll Iook into will look into TEXSAR and definitely help with animal needs and fostering.

When my house flooded (not this flood) it was a rising creek flash flood. The water coming in was a weird phenomenon. You would imagine it coming up from the creek through doors/windows. In reality it kind of surrounded the house first and then came up from the floor. It just came up and kept rising, yes it was moving, but in the house it just felt like it was rapidly rising. You would look around and then all the sudden it was a few inches higher.

Mary Grace Baker, Virginia Hollis, Kellyanne Lytal, Blakely McCrory, Margaret Sheedy, Cile Steward, Greta Toranzo all unaccounted for as of at least Sunday. All in Twins other than Greta who apparently was in Jumble House.

This is tough. I don't personally know any of the girls or anyone affected, but seeing all the pictures and the stories, especially Dermdocs, has made me close to tears a couple of times. And I don't cry. Couple of times I found myself asking God why. But I'm at peace knowing that I don't need the answer. He is good and that is all that matters. I'm still heartbroken right now though. Continuing to pray. Maybe we get a miracle.

This shows 25 campers/counselors.

The notification from the camp website stated 27 total.

Every one of these little girls is so cute. Breaks my heart. Ever since this happened on Friday every time I see a little girl around that age I get so sad. I think of my daughter - now 30 - who did her first year of Hill Country camp at Mystic at age 8 then switched to Camp Longhorn the next summer - and can't even began to adequately imagine how much of a mental and physical wreck I would be if that were her in this picture. Please God help all of these families...

Some girls were never announced as missing. Mary Kate and the Lawrence twins were never announced at the intensity the other girls were. Some families didn't release names and pictures. I'm guessing there are a few more girls, especially in Twins, that will only be identified to media once they have been found.

There are likely a couple children whose parents did not initially put out photos/info about their child. I can add them to the list if we know any other names. I also accidentally added a child twice and corrected it

They say things hit you different as a parent. As a dad with a 9 year old daughter, I didn't realize how understated that could be. Praying for everyone involved.

My daughter just turned 30. The last few days I can only see her as an 8-year old.

I think anyone with a heart is feeling some sort of grief right now. Like, trouble and her family are spending the night at my house on Wednesday night, and I know that we are going to bawl when we see each other. It feels silly because I don't have any direct link to this tragedy except that I'm a mom and a Texan. The mood everywhere you go is somber.

I just can't express how sorry I am that anyone has to go through this. From the cleanup crews to the guys dishing out food to those in need, this whole situation is just so damn sad.

I am praying several times a day and hoping that God and the Holy Spirit are there for everyone in this time of need.

Sarah Marsh reminds me so much of my 3 year old. It's the mischievous smile and the little curls across the forehead. I just keep coming back to her image

What happened to the video of the time-lapse of the flooding near LLano River near Kingsland?

Was it not legit or from a different flood event?

Caught myself crying in the airport this morning. All deaths hurt, but just can't stop thinking about those kids.
