Anyone know if they are going to put the deer corn on sale again at various places?

It's usually closer to the end of August once all the grain has come out of the fields. Because of all the rain there still corn being harvested

They will. Corn and Milo are so cheap this year that it's sad for those harvesting. At the port of Houston now, corn is 4.25 and Milo 3.85 per 56 pound bushel. Basically, our exports this year are way off and there is a large crop being harvested. Same story for other Texas grain crops like wheat and rice.

I dunno how much it costs to move corn, but we just got home from a semi-cross country driving trip, going from Richmond, TX to Cape Giradeau, MO to Milwaukee, WI to Channing, MI to Louisville, KY to Meridian, MS then home.

We saw LOTS of corn, never made a trip like that as a kid but there is more corn planted along that route than I ever would have thought.

So the cheap corn prices would make sense. EVERYWHERE the corn looked great, still lots of growing to do but dang.

I think it's usually Labor Day weekend. I have to go by there to get diesel in a little bit, I'll ask them

still $9 per bag at brookshires so price hasn't changed yet in east texas

Does the sale price trickle down to 3p vendors? I figured it was only that price at unitedag

it definitely varies from year to year depending on the corn market. It have been as high $11/ bag in recent years.

Circle K in Tilden had corn for $17/bag last time I was there

wow - wouldn't be able to bring myself to pay that for a bag of corn.

Pretty sure it's still about $8.5/bag at Carmine Feed in Giddings. Bought some the other day and I think that's what I paid.
