I have a small water leak in my front yard right next to my big oak tree and I'm thinking the roots punctured one of my sprinkler pipes. Hopefully that and not one of my main water line pipes.

Any recommendations? I'm in Carrollton. Or should I start with a plumber?

Water Cloud Irrigation and Landscaping! I was referred to them by a coworker and used them recently for both irrigation repairs and some drainage/hardscaping work; was super impressed by their responsiveness and pricing.

Just used them. Not bad. Not great.

Guy knew what he was doing. A little more expensive than I anticipated.

I need to get into sprinkler repair as a retirement gig. The systems are so simple to fix and people pay WAY too much for repairs.

Last repair for my system required a couple workers about an hour to "fix" one station... required a full-size hatchet to hack through a tree's roots. Then a rebuild of some piping. .

Way beyond my expertise (I can replace broken sprinkler heads ... that's my limit).

I'd have done that for $500. How does my cost compare?

And did the tree live?

Cannot provide the actual cost... it was included in a shrubs/trees/retaining wall demolition and rebuild ... they had to install new rebar footing for the whole front of home and 2 large trees in the yard. It was one of the tree's roots that destroyed the sprinkler station.

It was NOT cheap.... ~$7,000 for 4-5 days of work ... the sprinkler station repair was a couple hours out of the 4-5 days.

I would guess that station fix alone would have been $400-$600

Start digging and try to find the source of the leak?

Max Escamilla 469-363-6727 has done a decent job with my sprinklers. I last used him in 2023.

I have used Andy's when I have major stuff needed but they are very pricey.
