This is also why I need to remember to take off my watch when I'm swinging hammers etc. Never remember to.

One of the unexpected pleasures of knowing a bit about watches is the "spot the watch" game. OR, the level higher of "what watch do you think that guy is wearing before you see it...and you turn out to be right" game.

New watch inbound. I sold my gold piece to the honorable McGibblets and had to find something to do with the money, so did some research on dual time watches, and landed on the JLC Polaris Geographic (between that and the Vacheron Constantine)

The Vacheron was a little smaller, and a little more awkward looking, and I really loved the 40 coats of lacquer on the Geographic and how it looked in the light.

I should get it on Weds.

Does anyone know if the speedmaster with the white dial is going for under MSRP on the grey market? I know there are some dealer on this thread so I just wanted to check before buying one at the boutique.

Last speedmaster I bought was 7-8 years ago when they were going for a few grand under MSRP on the grey market.

I can get to you for 8k even right now (all in) so barely under msrp. I was trying to get a group buy going which I can get them for 10% off in bulk

I currently have a previous model hesilite professional on a nylon strap and I would want to swap the nylon strap to the white new one and move the bracelet to my old one

Hi, I have been lurking this thread for a while but never really had anything to contribute until now.

I have a 1982 Rolex Oyster Datejust w/ jubilee bracelet. My dad bought it when I was born and gave it to me when I graduated high school.

The bracelet is extremely loose, and I would like to fix it.

How can I find out what size pins my bracelet would need if I were to replace them myself? It appears to be a fairly straightforward process and Im confident I could do it myself.

Do I just need to buy a range of sizes and just match them as I go? or is there a serial number/model number look up to get the exact size of the pins?

I have to say I'm very impressed with JlC. I was called by a brand ambassador who gave me her cell phone number; work email and office line and told me I could call her any time with questions I had.

She said she had personally checked to make sure my watch was shipping and that it should be delivered by early afternoon tomorrow.

She asked me what brought me to the watch and chatted about my business and why I like dual time registers, said since it was my first JLC she would mail me some intro gifts, and walked me through how to register the watch to extend the warranty from. 2-8 years.

Very impressed

I have a buddy that does this and got this response from him.

"If it's a 36mm size needed will probably be 1.2 x 13.8 or 1.25 x 12.2. Also if the links are really chewed it's just not going to turn out how you want it to without solder repair."
