I've turned away from Stauer after some concerns about durability and re-focused on Bulova, and after close consideration of Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, and Vacheron Constantin.

Got a new leather band today at the mall (removed black for brown, blue watch face, slightly more narrow, and kiosk not storefront).

Good luck. Should take you about 1.5 weeks. Once done, there is zero chance you decide to sell that Omega. You are more likely to buy another one.

I've been collecting forever, and have a drawer full of mid tier/micro brand pieces. This was my first high end piece, and I definitely will own another some day. Just tough to stare at a mortgage payment at the moment.

Submariner seems overkill for a pond.

On the contrary, that's more water than 99% of Submariners ever touch outside of a bathtub, so maybe this actually puts you in the 1% of owners who will actually sort of use it for its intended purpose.

In other news, after 7 months, I finally got my Rolex back from Hal Martins. Its a 1946/47, Rose Gold, 32mm, original dial Rolex Bubbleback (I didn't know what it was), on an allegator strap.. Not sure I can post pictures.

But my goodness...Its an absolute gem of a watch (when used as a dress watch). Wore it to the courthouse in a suit, and I got three compliments randomly.

LOL, its small by modern standard sport watch junkies, but as a dress watch (or like 50's style JFK, oxford and Italian cut trousers), its fantastic.

my wife was happy to hear that the same story i told regarding guns lead to actual investments and a business that actually makes money. shes smarter than most and caught on after a few times of "this $3000 gun is super rare and it'll only go up in value"
