Nice, I've heard good things about KPs.

it's kind of a random pairing.

KP's is good...but very down the fairway "elevated American" style menu. I think the owner was a GM at Benjy's so similar menu.

STARBUCKS CLOSING SOON...

5115 Buffalo Speedway 77005

Overpriced coffee competition and fatigue setting in?

I know for sure that the traffic flow around these locations is not very conducive to getting in and out quickly and/or not easy to go against the dominant flow of traffic. Parking at the Memorial Drive one sucks balls.

And there is a newer one, with a drive thru, and better parking right up past the completely unnecessary and highly unsafe roundabout up Westcott.

Can someone explain, on a level I can understand, what "Nose-to-table" means?
Diggity

I've always heard of it as "Nose-to-tail", which was the Feast angle of service less popular cuts...basically using the whole animal
jetch17

I'm guessing that's supposed to be 'nose to tail' whole animal concept like the other was.

Or rooter to the tooter

Ok, I was confused by that part of the article.
Quote:

Veteran Houston restaurant obsessives will recall Knight as a co-owner and co-executive chef of Feast, the pioneering Houston nose-to-table restaurant

I don't keep up with concept lingo, so was willing to believe it was a thing.

The Studemont location hasn't been open long at all. It was kind of hard to see from the road so that probably didn't help.

I like KP's but comparing their burger to Au Cheval is a stretch beyond the fact that they both have meat, cheese, and bread.

Honestly surprised that one lasted as long as it did. It was always empty.

Feels like outside the height of crawfish season the one on White Oak is mainly empty as well.

surprising - always pretty crowded, with plenty of parking. Of course, the Kroger directly across the street has a Starbucks that they just recently renovated.
What do you boys want for breakfast BBQ ?.....OK Chili.

Nothing beats the intersection of W Gray that used to have the 2 full Starbucks across the street from each other, and then another Starbucks in the Barnes & Noble.

And speaking of empty. We went to a party at the El Tiempo on Westheimer (the old The Palm Steakhouse location) on Saturday night. That place was very empty. Maybe they get agood lunch weekday traffic because based on Saturday I'm not sure how that location could survive.

that one never seems very crowded.

They just opened a new one in some ghetto spot by NRG. That's a headscratcher for sure

Looks like that's the old Timmy Chans. The Pappasitos across the loop is always jammed up, so maybe trying to get some of that crowd.

Chacho's is also just down the street so looks like there's a market for Tex-Mex in the area.

Since ET also has a Wednesday fajita special, it may take some pressure off the area on Wednesday evenings.

Yeah, the wing joint used to be Timmy Chans. Timmy moved a little farther down the road to that place that has been a bunch of different things.
