You could do this race every year for the rest of your life and you'd likely never experience that again, but completely understand your sentiment.

Glad every is OK. Sounds like the guy who got hit by the tree is going to be ok, from what I read.

And I can't even begin to imagine hbc's experience either. If I were home and K was going through that, and I had no way to get ahold of her, I'm be losing my ****ing mind.

Luckily I was able to find a satellite for texts. I had no idea what anybody else knew since we had no service. Or even if it was a big line of storms like it was or something that just popped up. It's crazy to think we used to live with that limited amount of information.

Yeah... Watching the storm morph into a tornado heading right for the park for 20 minutes while not being able to provide any heads up and then hearing the local weatherman say "this is a very large tornado", then watching it go right over the park, then not hearing anything for 1 hour after is not something I wish to repeat. After my first post Friday night, I was grabbing random stuff (including 2 dogs) to throw in the car and just start driving the 6 hours there because I wasn't sure what else to do.

We are on vacation so haven't dug around too much, but who are the notables running? I saw Max King is in.

Haven't seen many names yet but only 10 made it onto loop 2. Laz must be upset so many finished the past couple years.

I was able to lounge around the house today and watch some of the coverage from Chianti. I knew if Jim, Killian and Vincent Bouillard were toeing the line together it'd make for a fun race. They stuck together at first till about a quarter of the way through then Jim kicked it up and smoked everyone the rest of the day. Killian and Vincent were trading back and forth for 2nd most of the race. Vincent would take it on downhills and flats but then Killian would easily overtake him on the climbs, finally pulling away in the last mile entering the city. Made for a dramatic finish for 2nd.

Didn't get to watch, but those were my top 3, in order, on freetrail fantasy. I'm guessing most picked that top 3, but also guessing that jim/Killian were swapped on half of the picks.

Was happy to see that Vincent's UTMB wasn't a "fluke."

Candice hired some guy to do the livestream of the 300 mile race. they got into a text "fight" the guy told her he was done. she wanted her money and equipment back. he said he'll ship the equipment, but he's keeping the money for his time. She put him on blast on socials saying he scammed her and 100% doxed him, his place of employment, contact info, etc. He sends the rest of the texts to whoever runs Yaboyscottjurek on IG, so the full text exchange is posted. Basically both parties look like middle school kids fighting. Its not like she's the most likeable person, but i don't think i'd want to work/deal with either of them. People jumping on the bandwagon of both sides. some defending each side, some providing more fuel to the fire.

Oh man I just skipped over that post when I saw it. Doesn't really surprise me.

Also don't forget to make freetrail picks so I'm not the only one playing. I suck at picks but I'm winning bc no one else is playing.

nevermind. i don't think i'd even heard of a single name on that sky race event. I removed it from our league.

I saw some of candice's posts and IMO none of the stuff she posted incriminated the guy like she thought it did.

Is Candice a trust funder? She seems to live quite the life for a trail race director.

Just wrapped up hells hills 25k in rain. First race since September of last year. Wasn't super thrilled with how i finished but Harmon says I severely over exerted myself, which leads me to believe that I'm getting old and my training has been suspect

I've run hells hills a few times and never lucked out with cool weather. Always been warm and super humid. Had to have been nice to at least have decent temps.

this thread is getting interesting. I've never really cared too much one way or the other about Candice, but its kind of crazy that i've never really heard much negative about her races until this...and its blowing up. People are coming out of the woodwork.

I definitely don't really get the hate for the cost of her races. 200+ miles is gonna be expensive regardless of who is putting it on and where its located. And they are a crapload of work. People need to make some money or these things wont exist. I paid $900-1000+ for ironman when I was doing those, and that's a 17 hour event. I have no idea what IM costs these days.

I also hadn't heard anything about her cheating on her 50K run streak, but saw that on IG yesterday as well. Someone said they had called out multiple runs during the streak that were shorter than 50K. The record was ratified by Guiness, so I'm not sure how legit the "cheating" is or if its just someone who doesn't like her.

I've never followed her super closely, but wow, there sure are a lot of accusations about a whole slew of things...I got sucked down the rabbit hole.

Kind of funny that Camille posted this a few days before the Arizona Monster.

What's interesting is, I saw her posting about racing her bf up mt Lemmon while the race was taking place. She could have been heading up there to help with the race or it couldhave happenedpre race and she posted it later, but that's a bad look even if that's the case.

I saw that she was interviewing the lead men as they were coming through. I guess she thought that was more important.

I thought the Arizona monster buckle would be more impressive but it's just like the logo printed onto the buckle.
