What makes sense about a five star recruit thinking he needs an extra year in college? These kids all think they are going to the NFL after year 3, and, unless they are in their draft year, are all about chasing reps, not more time in school.

Do you know hiw hard it is to throw 5 interceptions at this level. All 5 were terrible decisions and terrible throws. Honestly, the dude is over rated.

I think those days with NIL are over. At least for mid to late draft picks that can get paid more staying in college vs. the possibility of getting waived and bouncing around team's practice squads for a few years.

While not the same as Fournette being out, in 2015 people were glad that Kyle Bolin struggled down the stretch and we'd get to face Louisville's freshman QB instead. He'd thrown as many interceptions as touchdowns and was possibly nursing a bad ankle from earlier in the year. So we got a great look at how good Lamar Jackson was.

To me, the quintessential version of this is when Jalen Hurd at Tennessee got hurt the week before our game in 2016. I couldn't believe how much the backup RB was torched us. How could we have allowed that to happen? That backup, of course, was Alvin Kamara.
