We were mauling their team on the ground; they were gassed; then we substituted our running game for 5 WRs and a called fade to the corner of the end zone.

That's BAD play calling and not the first time we've seen that by any stretch.


I'm happy and proud of this team, but some of you guys are football idiots or just plain babys!

Hey Vander- why don't you weigh in here defending that with football talk? Please.

OP wants a one dimensional offense while complaining about our OC that a bunch of AD's will be coming after at seasons end.

True, it didn't help. But if the defense was playing up to the level of the past games, it wouldn't be an issue.

But they recognize that and I feel pretty sure that Elko and his boys will address that and get it corrected.

We are 17 in the nation in ypg and 23 in scoring and some people are still complaining about Klein. What's it gonna take to win you over?

This team goes as far as the defense takes us. The offense has been consistently good - Auburn game perhaps being the exception but they have a really good defense and the refs in that game were … ridiculous is the only word I can come up with.

To put our offense in perspective, outside of our game Notre Dame has allowed 18 ppg. We scored 41 on them.

Like I've said multiple times, Klein's schemes are way above average. The number of wide open receivers and TEs has been impressive. But, he'll have a hard time outrunning the criticism when Rueben Owens gets slammed into the line 7x/game for 1-2 yards, and short yardage fourth downs have gone the way they've gone. In truth, a lot of the failure in the short yardage has been bad Reed reads, and if Reed hit wide open deep shots at a mere average rate, A&M is top 10 in yards per game.

He also adjusts in game and game to game. I really like what I have seen last few games. A lot more short to midrange throws, jet sweeps to spread the defense out and open up opportunities to gash them with the run game. Nothing more demoralizing for a defense than adjusting to what the offense is doing and then getting pummeled by the run game. Lots and lots of eye candy presnap to confuse the defense and slow them down. There are a number of reasons why Reed rarely gets a lot of pressure and this is one of them. Our OL being very good at pass blocking is another.

Reed is also improving at going thru progressions

Colin Klein's play calling has been good so far this year, and execution has improved significantly. We have scored 31+ points in 6 of our 7 games and in 4 of 5 games against Power 4 teams, including twice on the road.

LSU, Mizzou, t.u. All 3 will be very tough. We have a better record than I expected at this point in the season, but these will be tougher than any of our first 7 games.

We still haven't played a completely solid game - which is both encouraging and disappointing. Encouraging in the sense that we are still 7-0 while not playing a complete game. Disappointing in the sense that we must be able to play a complete game in order to beat the 3 above teams.

again, for the late arriving crowd, I wasn't criticizing Klein in general or our O in general (obviously).

The ones who dont care to take on an honest and credible football opinion should just sit out these threads instead of calling lifelong Ags "miserable" or "unhappy". Talk about Elko's characterization of a waste of brain space.
