John Mackovic in 1997 is my answer. But that was at the end of the year. I do not recall any coach being fired in the middle of the season after losing to us.

We will continue to do this. Sark will be next when Elko beats him two times in a row.

I dont consider it a badge of honor if a school fires their coach for losing to us.
You dont fire your coach for losing to a program you expect to be competitive or better. You fire a coach for losing to a program you perceive to be worse off than you.
Firing Kelly, also is a signal that LSU does not see us as equals. They see us as we should have a lesser program and Kelly let us get the best of them.

With penn st., florida and now lsu, some team is going to be disappointed in their coach hire.

It wasn't just because of us. Vandy broke them.
Franklin was fired for losing to Northwestern even though Northwestern actually has a winning record so far this year.

We got Napier fired too. They just wanted to wait until the bye week to do so. Brian Kelly got fired immediately because this was the bye week. We get to claim both scalps though. We might have a chance at Sark's too, if we play it right.

David McWilliams and Fred Akers should be on the list

It's so rare to have a coach retire.
They get fired or get stolen almost all the time.
I do prefer where we are in the cycle, and here's to hoping Elko becomes one of the rare ones for us in about 15 year.
