Are you relatively new to DirecTV? September of 2024 this same thing happened between DirecTV and Disney, with the blackout running for two weeks.

It was the impetus for me cutting the cord, and moving to YTTV, which now, of course, is in dispute with Disney. Maybe it's me?

I've had DirecTV since 2016. That one instance has been it. All these streaming services deal with it incessantly.

I'm going to do the same with Fubo free trial. This will be resolved with YTTV by Monday. Maybe even today. You can book it. You can be sure they are watching their subscriber base decrease every second today.

Doing the Sling day pass would work I think, but since it wouldn't include local channels with it, would you just log into the espn app to watch the ABC games?

It also looks to be a 1-year deal and not month to month, if I'm not mistaken. So, they are locking you in with that deal, so you don't go back to YTTV.

I'm shocked the Fubo 5-day trial is out there with this going on. Only reason why is because they haven't merged enough yet. Otherwise, you can guarantee that wouldn't be happening.

Just look up the game on YouTube. Normally 3-4 people are streaming it and when one gets taken down another pops up. All college games you can watch free on YouTube.

Yes we don't have to subscribe to peacock or some other streaming nonsense and don't have all our big games at noon. As much as people like to ***** about ESPN we are lucky to be be partners with them. These fights are the reason each school gets such a large check for media rights.

I've had YTTV for years mostly because I hate Hulu due to not being able to skip commercials. For some reason my ESPN app on my TV is still logged in through YTTV credentials so no worries for me!

So for other YTTV folks see if the ESPN app still works. I'm betting it won't if you were not already logged in, but a nice loophole.

If YTTV doesn't fix this soon I'm looking at Sling maybe, I like that you can somewhat pick and choose your channels.

I'm saving my free trials for Aggie games. This week I'll just watch fox and CW

I just scrolled down and clicked on the channel from the list (i.e., 33. ESPN) and the stream started, Didn't watch long since there were other non-ESPN games to watch at 11am

Especially when YouTube sends an email to subscribers about the dispute and includes this gem:

"You can continue to watch Disney's sports programming by signing up for ESPN directly. For more information on the impact to our 4K Plus and Spanish Plus add-ons, please visit our Help Center."

So they are in a dispute with Disney and they tell me to go sign up for Disney's sports programming. Something seems fishy.

How is it restraint of trade? You can get ESPN on their streaming app, DTV, FUBO, Sling, HULU, Spectrum, Optimum, Verizon FIOS, Cox, Xfinity, etc.

So Disney owns content providers to which it provides content; then charges content providers it doesn't own more for the content?? That doesn't seem like fair competition.

As does CBS, NBC, Paramount, etc., etc., etc.
