Is it weird to anyone else that the biggest decision this off-season is whether ange stays or not and instead of deciding that, both Ange and Levy go on vacation.

I'm not sure I could relax with that hanging over my head.

Would we really fire the manager who just won the first trophy in 17 years???

You would think not, but given the silence, I'm almost expecting it.

Thomas Frank is the name I saw over the past few days as the most likely replacement. Firing the manager that ended a 17 year trophy drought (and has a resume littered with trophies at lower levels) to hire a manager with exactly 0 trophies in his ~10 year club manager career (even at lower levels) sounds like the most "spursy" thing to do. Don't get me wrong, I think Frank is a good coach and has done a great job keeping Brentford in the PL but would be a headscratcher.

I figured he'd get sacked. Trophy is great but just above relegation in league is just awful.

You can make a case either way but we really need to get a staff in place and make some noise in the transfer market.

Who would take the job, knowing even if you deliver a trophy and UCL, it may not be enough? I guess they'll money-whip someone. If I were Thomas Frank, I'd say thanks but no thanks, unless he was planning on retirement in the near future any way.

Levy already stated we can't spend money we don't have, which I took to mean to temper your expectations. They'll also now have to pay Ange a buy out if I'm not mistaken, so deduct those funds as well.

Edited to add the irony that they're both named Daniel Levy. That was just a happy coincidence.

It's a trophy sure but has to be considered a rather minor one.

trophy tiers:
A - Champions League, Premier League
B- FA Cup, League Cup/Carabao Cup
C - Europa League
D - Conference League

I see some people who consider the League Cup on par with Europa and have those just below FA Cup. I do think Europa is better than a lot of the domestic cups but for an English club I think it's pretty mid.

But really the only Europa does is get you CL the next year. If it did not have that it would be worthless.

I disagree, love the hardware and do believe Ange made some concessions to the league to stay in contention in Europa but 17th gets you sacked.

I was good either way though.

It's gotta be a bigger deal than the Carabao Cup. And maybe the FA Cup... The only reason I say maybe on the FA cup is since the UEL is a full European competition rather than just England. But I'd love for Spurs to get a FA Cup soon.

You're obviously correct, but I think focusing on the UEL and ending the trophy drought was a better plan than finishing 14th without the trophy. The present board clearly values the Premier League position above all else.

I've heard mention that Levy may be asked to step aside soon?

I can't see a guy like Sonny wanting to play in Saudi. I don't think it is the money as much as where he will be living and what not. LA would be perfect with the Korean influence that is already there.
